I would say for just a system don't pay more than $40 or maybe up to $65 in box minty fresh. The original style ones don't work as well as the top loading ones from my experience.

good luck

I got mine for £10.........

though it was unboxed and the tool had painted the pad lightgreen with emultion!!!

some dudes just got no idea.

Like they said, £30 - £50 is fair, depending on condition etc...

I would say go for the top loading FZ-10 model. I used to own the Goldstar Motor driven unit and it sucked. After about two years, the motor gave out. If you get a system, make sure to buy Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

I would get the original Panasonic unit simply because it was so damn cool.

I paid a grand for one (Canadian) upon its release and was blown away by how well built it was, plus the fact that it had proper A/V ports on it, including S-Video. I also loved the faux-ganite top with embossed Panasonic logo.

On the other hand, I have no intention of buying one again, even for $40.00. There simply weren't enough good games that didn't later appear in better form on other systems. The only game I really missed was Return Fire. I was more pleased and excited than I can express when it was announced and later released for PSX.

They were $600 in the US, I to got one at launch crying but it was a great system. Crash and Burn, Road Rage, Need for Speed, Street Fighter 2, Sam Showdown, etc... great versions of all those games, plus I still think it had the best versions of NFS and Road Rage to this day!

...and hardly any versions on PS/Sat were any better-or even different!
WING COMMANDER 3,SHOCKWAVE and STARFIGHTER 3000 were actually worse! oh_no

The only game where they at least TRIED was NEED FOR SPEED!
Three times faster, higher resolution and more tracks...but less objects, colors(!?) and no oncoming traffic anymore.
Instead of a simulation ,the PS version was a poor man's RIDGE RACER... oh_no

I even bought a MAS stick for 3DO way-back-when to use for Samurai Shodown and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. :)

Yeah, it was a great system. Man, Road Rash kicked ass! It also has the first 3D version of FIFA soccer.
