The Aquabats! They are awesome! Oh man, I remember my Ska days... Geez, that feels like so long ago. They are one of the only Ska bands I am still fond of, them and the Bosstones, they were my absolute favorite.

But alas, I've moved on to other music. It's not that I don't like Ska anymore, it's just that I don't listen to it. People that loved Ska back when it was "trendy" and then say "Ska sucks!" now piss me off so much... It's still good music, I just haven't been in the mood for happy music lately.

My favorite band is only the band that I am currently enjoying. When I find a band or artist I listen to the songs I like by them over and over and over and over again until I am bored by them, then I move on to another. My favorite bands are just the ones that I return to at a later date, or am still fond of after I have moved on to others.

That being said, I can't pick just one. Out of all of the bands I've ever listened to, I'd say Nine Inch Nails is one of my favorite. Sure, there's much better industrial, but I've followed them for almost 10 years of my life now so they would be at the top definitely. Others include (for all types of music) Rancid, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Aquabats, NOFX, Strung Out, Velvet Acid Christ, VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, Wumpscut, Wolfsheim, my recently discovered Icon of Coil, and my very recent discovery (last night) Theatre of Tragedy. Those are all amazing bands that I have a feeling I will be listening to for a long time to come.

Todd, did you see my last post in the "Favorite CD" post? There are some questions there that I would really like to hear your opinions on.

They're back in the studio right now working on an album so maybe they'll tour next year. Yeehaa!!

For me it's The Misfits. Sure, the new stuff ain't got quite the zing that the Danzig era had, but they still have a lot of the same sound, so I'm happy.

I know I've spent hours at the art desk blairing The Misfits as I worked on one drawing or the other. To me, their sound is very inspirational, uplifting, and entertaining. None of that "I'm soooo sad" or "I like chicks-well maybe" crapola out of these guys, just good solid music. Besides, my first tattoo was of The Crimson Ghost, so i guess that sorta' seals it for life huh?

How could you not love a band with works like this? I am not being sarcastic, BTW.

We walk the streets at night
We go where eagles dare
They pick up every movement
They pick up every loser
With jaded eyes and features
You think they really care

I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby
I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby, babe

An omelet of disease awaits your noontime meal
Her mouth of germicide seducing all your glands

I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby
I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby, babe

Let's test your threshold of pain
Let's see how long you last
That's happened in your rape
On bosoms of your past

With jaded eyes and features
You think they really care
Let's go where eagles dare
We'll go where eagles dare

I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby
I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby
I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby
I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch
You better think about it baby, hey

Ghost-Dog managed to hit one of my other favourites, too. The first RUSH album I ever heard was Hold Your Fire when a friend loaned it to me years ago, and I have been hooked ever since.

*LOL* Damn straight Biomotor! That's my question too, how could anybody not like this stuff?

Funny you bring up that song (Where Eagles Dare), because when I was living at home with my parents, my mother overheard me playing that song one time, and wound up singing it to herself! She told me later, when she saw me: "I want you to know I sang that damn song all the way to work! Here I am going down the road sayin' 'I ain't no goddam son of a bitch' over and over!"

*LOL* Even my mom can't resist the infectious tunes...

Yes, we have even heard of Kittie up here in Alaska. We cannot play it too loud, though, or it cracks the ice-blocks of our igloos.

They're originally from London Ontario and live merely an hour away from there. So the word was therefore spread.
