I am gonna get my copy of WW this friday, admittedly I am not to happy with the cel shaded look, but the game is what really counts to me. Anyways, the Zelda I liked most:

A link to the past, cause the super fami/snes had some of the best RPG's I have ever played to this day.
Admittedly, I loved the two Zelda's on the 64.
One thing I like in the series is extra's. Thats why a link to the past kicked extreme ass, you could get special items and whatnot.

Rasa mentioned a good point regarding Ocarina, it was sort of nostalgic of A Link to the past. You could find tons of extra's.
I think Majora's mask was sort of under appreciated. I think some of the later dungeons are extremely cool in that game.

On with the question: Which do you like above all in the series?

It's hard, on one hand I like the SNES A Link to the Past, and on the other I can't get enough of the first one. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with the SNES one, probably because it has a nice 2D feel without looking totally drab (ala Zelda 1). Just sucks that you can beat it so fast. It's still an ace game to pop in every year though.

I agree, SNES Zelda is a classic. This game is what got me into RPGs.

I'll vote for the GBA version of LINK TO THE PAST. Since I can play it on the shitter it's aces in my book over even the Super Fami version.

1. A Link to the Past
2. Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask
3. Link's Adventure (yes, I really love it)

Too early to tell for Wind Waker, but so far I think it'll make #3. I combine Majora's Mask and Ocarina just because Majora's Mask seems more like a side quest to the main adventure whic is OoT.

1. link to the past
2. zelda 1
3. zelda 2

I can't even count how many times i've played through a link to the past. One of the greatest games ever created.

a link to the past and link's awakening.
i can't stand the look and feel of the n64 versions, 'cause imo those games aren't zelda games. they're more like tomb raider clones.

I'm going to go with Ocarina of Time. It was the first 3d Version of them all and they pulled it off quite nicely. The ocarina songs were memorable, as well as the classic "Suh-hayiaaaah!!"

Zelda 1 - well marketted, especially with the gold cartridge. This hasn't happened very often. I'm glad of that, because it leaves Zelda in a special place in many people's nes libraries.

Zelda LttP - started and ended with incredible atmosphere - felt liek the orginal zelda but contemporary, which made me happy after playing Zelda 2, which didn't feel like zelda to me. Didn't feel like it was by the same people at all...

OoT - some of it was stupid, but I liked the dungeons and the music a lot. The skulltula quest also kept me into the game for a while.

never played majoras mask. came out at the wrong time for me be able to give it a chance.

why i m kind of looking forward to the new zelda
is because i didnt like the 64 one,
how it looked that is. all the colors seemed dull.
or maybe lowres and it might have been me.
but the 64 has a blur, to all its games honestly.
and i found that pretty detracting as a whole.
the gc revision was kinda nice. but then you had
a slow ass frame rate that bugged me.
well. anyways. the cel shading actually kinda reminds me
of zelda lttp which is my favorite one out of all of them.
it was fun going through the game when i bought the
gba one and beating it in 2-3 days.
i cant wait for the new gba one that capcom is working on.

the SNES version. I can't explain why but when I think about it, only good memories come to my mind.

Compared to the original the SNES one falls short on 2 points to me:
1) Too short (shorter than the 1st if you include 2nd Quest)
2) Too easy (for the most part I blew through the game without any problems)

What was the original Zelda for the Gameboy called? That game owns.

Sad to say I never did play the SNES Zelda.

Only 3 I have played are: Original, 1st Gameboy release and Ocarina of Time. All 3 were awesome.
