After I hear nothing but resentment twoards the new Zelda from local people ....from board members ...from videogame magazines .

I went to Gamestop to pick up my copy tonight ....note ...this small shop only has about 700 square feet of space it was PACKED with 90+ people waiting for the game ...

I've stopped caring about people who hate the graphics. There isn't anything I can say to change their mind.

I'm going to buy it tomorrow, and I'm going to remember why Nintendo is still my favorite game company. Every 5 years a Zelda comes out, and completely redefines what the term "video game" means. This is a time to be treasured, not criticized for trying something new. I personally can't wait.

Hypocracy is the people who claim to hate the 3D Zelda's that were on the N64, yet profess nothing but love for The Wind Waker, despite the fact that it plays almost exactly like its N64 predecessors.

And yes, the graphical style sucks! wink

Damnit i haven't even gotten an email from Ebgames stating my Zelda: WW has been shipped.

I can't wait for this game. I think it looks great and hopefully it will play just as well as it looks.

I though Ocarina of Time was awesome just like a Link to the past was.

All the Zelda games i have played were great.

Testimony of a closet Zelda gamer .

Actually, I really liked the SNES Zelda, and am considering picking up the GBA port, which is supposed to be excellent. However, the cel-shaded fairytale crap that is Zelda: The Wind Breaker is totally embarassing . . . just a joke. The small core of diehard Nintendo fans, who will buy anything Nintendo puts out (and especially anything Miyamoto produces), will buy this, but hopefully beyond that it will fizzle out and die, as it should. Still to this day, nothing out worth getting a GC for either . . . and this doesn't change that at all.

You have to agree that it does look a lot like "A link to the past" in the graphics department. I think the creators wanted to bring back the nostalgia while keeping the "3D trend."

I have no qualms. If its a great game, its a great game. I just don't seem to be interested in Zelda to much...

I've never been a fan of the Zelda series as I'm not a fan of RPG's or most of Nintendo's franchises. I do however respect what Zelda has done for gaming.

The Wind Waker has the same type of puzzles and gameplay elements of the N64 Zelda. It has almost the same combat system.

You are a hypocrite because you want to hate the more "mature" Zelda, because it goes against the style of the new one, and yet when it comes down to what you have been SCREAMING about since the entire graphics argument came up, the gameplay, is almost exclusively based on its N64 counterparts which you claim to hate.

I swear all I ever heard when I said I hate the graphics is that "graphics don't matter, its all about the gameplay", etc. except the game plays exactly the Zelda's you profess to hate or at least "not like".

I like the N64 Zeldas just fine, but how can you say that just because they have the same core gameplay elements that you can't like one and not the other? MANY people don't like Majora's Mask but love OoT. I actually like MM a little better myself, but it's all about the nuances... Although I do think it's too soon for any of us to say how much we like WW right now!

EDIT: Just had to ask a question, however: Chimp, I honestly don't see how you can hate the graphics when it looks IDENTICAL to the SNES version, just in beautiful 3-D.

I can go back to many different posts where we yelled at each other about this and you stated how much you didn't like the N64 Zelda's. Now you're saying that "the gameplay was great but the blurry textures made me want to stop playing". How the fuck am I supposed to know all of this? All I see is how you talk badly about the Ocarina of Time, never once did you make a distinction about it not being about the gameplay. And despite your logic, I really don't even pretend to know what the fuck goes on in that twisted little mind of yours, so how the hell am I supposed to assume that after you stated how much you didn't like the N64 Zelda's that you really actually did like the gameplay!
