Because it has good ports of SNK and Capcom games and could do everything that SNES and Genesis couldn't....

Anyone ever played Shadow: War of Succession? This game is so hilariously bad, that my friend and I could barely play it through the tears. It's just mind numbingly funny. Seriously, anyone with a 3DO, get this game. Someday we hope to have a capture card to share it with the world, cause it's JUST THAT GOOD.

After I plyed the demo disc. I steered way clear of that one.
That is a major Mud Blower !
Much like Quarantine , It was really awful too.
Phoenix 3 is another to avoid.
Did anyone like Guardian War ?
I thought it sucked , way slow.
Was that the only RPG ? I dont remember any others.
I really love IceBreaker , If you have a 3DO get this game !
Exelent music and very addicting, In fact maybe I will go play it now ?

Yes, I have. And yes, you are correct. It's Bad. Actually, you may be wrong. It's horrid. Yeah, the tears of laughter streamed down our faces as well. Of my huge 3DO collection, I still have yet to find a copy of that game. Oh well, I least have some other titles that are on par with it... Like Mort the Chicken. Oh yes. Mort is the man... er, chicken.

Funny you should mention the 3DO system. I just started to play mine again. My roommate and I are going through and trying to finish all the missions for Space Hulk. Game kicks ass. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

Over and out...

I have been working on making a collector's list containing all the games released for the 3DO. Check my website for it in the next day or two.

Also, I am curious if anyone has played the AD&D RPG's on the 3DO? I wonder if they are any good.

Oh God, you and Ghostwalker have played that trash? I was hoping I was the only one to suffer the absolute worst gaming has to offer in the fighting gender. Sorry you guys had to suffer through that like I did. Luckly I just rented it, I can't imagine someone buying it and the look on their face after playing for only a few minutes.

I do like the 3DO system though, Star Control 2 being my favorite game for it. I still have my system.

I have Slayer and it is a great game .
Im not sure if that is what you meant as an rpg ?
Its more like an action game I think , much like Space Hulk is.
It is definatly worth owning

Space Hulk is awesome, better than the PSX counterpart (IMO).

Also, there are 2 SSI game, Slayer and DeathKeep. I have both, they are super tough for me. So I didn't get far into the game.

THe only true rpg is Lucienne's Quest (I don't consider Guardian War a true rpg). At least in the US. Lucienne's Quest came out late in 3DO's lifecycle, so it is alittle rare. But i dunno how many 3DO collectors there are so maybe it isn't really worth anything :p

Yes, I have Lucienne's Quest, and I thought it was a pretty good game. Nothing mindblowing, mind you.

Both Slayer and Deathkeep are a lot of fun. They remind me quite a bit of early computer RPGs like Dungeon Master & Arena.

Good fun.

As far as *true* English RPGs on the system. There is Lucienne's Quest. Quite a hard one to get ahold of these days.
