The first console I've ever owned is a NES, bought for me by my dad around 1988, when I was 5.

My first game system was this:
<a href="http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=3&c=719" target="_blank">http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=3&c=719</a>

I had a light gun as well.

After a while we discovered a bunch of bugs like being able to shoot the ball in all of those different pong games. Being able to merge some games together by putting the game selector halfway. wink

Hmm, Candy, you're not that much older then me, I'm almost 30 *shudder*. :)

The first system I got was a nintendo in 1989. I loved it and still would play it today if it wasn't for that cursed Game Genie that gave my poor system a virus. Once I gave away my Game Genie, my nintendo couldn't play any games. Now, I'm the proud owner of a PS, PS2, Dreamcast, and SNES.

Too bad I can't find any games for my SNES system now! Thank goodness for remakes!!

Mine was the $200 Atari 2600. Then the $50 Atari 2600. Then the SMS... I loved that thing.

Seems to be working fine for me ?

As for these things being worth money , according to the site I found it on they are worth about 22.00 I think it said.

My second console which I still have today as well is the odessy2 with the voice adapter and about 50 some odd games , the cool part is I still have all the origional boxes after all these years , man where does the time go ?

I had a similar console. I had a Radioshack tennis game. It was basically the same thing, it had about 5 games of pong on it, some with multiple padals... and a cool Pause feature! hehe...

My first was the "console masquerading as a computer": The C64

Then I got an NES, way late in the game (Power-Pad edition)

Sweet. I love looking at those old Pong machines, that one does look nice too. I still have my original 2600, works perfect, and still in use on a regular basis.

I have that exact system sitting in my closest in perfect working order with box and instructions. The wood paneling is why i kept it. Sounds comes from the system , it is hilarious. I do nto have the ac adapter, but i have the order form that came with the system tho.

While my parents had an Atari VCS (been gaming for 22 years now =p), my first console that was truly mine was the venerable Sega Master System. I got it for Christmas in 1986 if I remember correctly.

I still have it to this day, and most of my games. My old save on Phantasy Star (circa 1986) is still intact. buttrock

Nice!!

I'm 32, and my first console was some sortof of 4-game Pong console (played on a tiny B&W TV). I wish I could remember the brand the console was, but unfortunately it was probably sold in a garage sale in the late '70's after my dad bought us a new Atari VCS. :)

I think the games were tennis, squash, hockey (?), and a forth one I can't remember. I do recall that it used a dial to select the various games (I think). Damn, I wish I still had that thing. frown

I have no clue as to how it entered the house, but for all intensive purposes it was a welcome start on the gaming habit:

<a href="http://www.old-computers.com/magazine/view.asp?r=2&a=8" target="_blank">http://www.old-computers.com/magazine/view.asp?r=2&a=8</a>

Emerson's Arcadia 2001 (the top one pictured).

And as far as I know, it's still in working order. Oh, the time spent of Cat Trax and Tanks A Lot alone... whoo...
