This year we are finally getting the sequels/remakes to games that we have wanted or thought about for a long time. Here is some of the ones I am talking about.

Metroid Prime& Fusion -Finally!!

New Shinobi

New Panzar Dragoon

New Rygar

New Ninja Gaiden

Phantasy Star Collection

New Altered Beast

New Contra for PS2 and GBA

Super Ghouls & Ghosts with new levels for GBA

and so on. I am not sure if they will all be as good as the originals but I have waited very long for a new Metroid and Rygar game. I can't wait to play the new Panzar Dragoon game as well. What are some of the games that you are looking forward to this year?

All the games you have quoted i grew up with and absolutely loved, it will be a shame if they try to incorporate new 3-d graphics and ruin what potential could be a fantasic game

Personally i dont see Contra, Shinobi and altered beast being better than the classics

and i reckon Rygar will be absolutely ruined, this game is one of my personal favourites and i hope Namco decide to make a new gen Splatterhouse, if that and Rygar came out for an X-box or PS2 - i would buy that console just for that game no matter how bad the game is

:)

I have to say that I think people ran out of ideas long before now. but that isnt a bad thing , or at least I dont think it is ?
If you look at videogames from as far back as odessey2 and 2600 the ideas are pretty much the same just that now we have more technology.
platform games are still platformers and fighters are still fighters they just package them differently I.E. 3D instead of 2D.
but do we really need a first person Metroid game ? I know I dont. Im kind of burned out on the whole 1st person genre.
how bout you guys ?

The only thing I am worried about is Rygar becoming a Devil May Cry ripp off. I wish that they make a GBA version but I don't see that happening. Also, I keep hearing that it will have a greek theme to it. It might just be me but I never got the feeling when playing the NES original that it was set in Greek times. It was in the land of Argool. A more fantasy setting with wise old men and flying dragon's that drop fluffy white balls on you ;) .

Well all I can do is hope for the best when it comes to Rygar. I thought that on the NES it was right up there with Metroid in the adventure category. Why can't they just make a 2D sequel?? I am sure it would stand out from the crowd as the only 2D game on PS2! Oh well, if it sucks then I can always play the original.
