DOAX [GameFAQs]

I don't know why I did this, but it was decently entertaining...

I floated aroud the DOAX forum at Gamefaqs.com for a bit, and low and behold over half of the topics contained somekind of erotica in one way or another. You know I have nothing against erotica, but this is rediculous. I can get porn when ever. I can get Hentai or CG porn too. Why would I subject myself to needing to play a game for this mindless ness. Well the main reason that I am writing this is because I think that it is really sad that the game does so well for the wrong reasons. I know that TECMO pumped it for these reasons, but it is ultimatly a date sim. I will rent this this weekend, and if there is not some intense draw about this game I think that I will have honestly lost hope for most next gen videogames that dont have solid roots (Like PDO and Rygar, or RE and Mario). Bahh what ever i am kind of disqusted with alot o things (incluing my spelling and grammer) what ever.

It does well because it's a fun game. The 2 player matches (against good players) are *great*. Seriously.

The DoaX board is the first Gamefaqs board I ever bothered reading (for lack of information anywhere else), and it was really helpful for quite a while. With nothing new to discuss, though (no big secrets found), I'm not surprised it's gone downhill considering Gamefaqs reputation...

I know people really wanna knock this game because it has a lot of good looking girls playing volleyball, but give it a break. Trust me, everyone knows it's not real and everyone knows they can find real (or animated) porn on the internet.

Totally! 2 player DOAX is a blast. I dont really play the single player game. It isnt as fun IMO. 2 player though I could play all night.

The 1 player game is relaxing for me... I dunno, it's just easy to waste an hour or so trying to get a few new swimsuits for use in 2 player mode. I wish I could turn up the difficulty for the opposing players...

I never really got too high on this game, but every time I look at the game clock (currently 35 hours), the more I realize how well it was done. I think High Heat is the only other sports game where I've been willing to put in this much time over the course of only 2 weeks...

I am not discrediting the game (Well not too much). What I am more hiting at is that the way this game was marketed and the way this game is talked about it is more like finding your dads hidden porn collection then the reasons that you stated. That and It is normally people on GFAQS saying stupid sh*t that they know nothing about, this is all erotica stuff, as though you cant get erotica from something else. Statements like "Man what a fun 2 player game with the bonus of hot girs!" dosent hit me like... "Which one would you want to have sex with! Man XXXX is so hot I would put it in her."

I hope this helps express what I am getting at better.

People take DOAX way too seriously. Damn it's a fun game and it looks good. Nice change of pace from the usual ultra-violent, dingy looking worlds most 3D games are made of.

More than that, I think people take their image way too seriously. Like people are gonna think they're any less of a dork because they refuse to play a game with attractive polygonal women or act like it's humanly impossible to find polygonal women attractive in the first place. Never mind the game is fun...

Whatever - everyone who I've introduced to the DoA girls have enjoyed their stay on the island (despite trying to act like they wouldn't). Unfortunately, they've had to learn to like me pummeling them 7-0, too. My only competition is way the hell down in Rochester!

I think that some of the DOA girls are hot. I have no problem saying it. I would NEVER post a thread at a forum about which one I would most like to have sex with. Let alone expecting to get 40+ replies about it and then find out that I was the 20+th person to post a similr thread. This was mainly to bitch about GFAQS kids. The fact that this game invoked that response from them turned me off to it. This thread turned into more of me being a Troll. Sorry.
