Shinobi has got to be the most fustrating game I have ever had the gall to play ... I am so pissed right now that I want to quit playing the game altogether but I have invested MUCH time and many headaches in proceeding in this game so I dont want to have wasted that time in vain .

I am at the very end of the game and the final boss is so friggin ridiculous ! my fingers just cant move that fast I am not sure its humanly possible to do it .... I have just spent 2 hours fighting the same boss and I probably would have been still playing but the worst thing happened ..

Because of the overactive finger movement that is necessary to succeed in this game my PS2 controller gave out and the R1 button caved in .

and its not a simple problem because there is a loose part inside the controller that can be heard when I shake it ..

I need to beat this game ...I cant play anything else until I do so ....I will get a new controller tomorrow .

i got to that part last month. played it 25 times nonstop and still couldn't beat the last boss. and basically havent played it since.

for a quick fix i got serious sam for the xbox glee

i've usually beaten the bosses and levels in shinobi after a few days or weeks of not playing it (basically play til completely frustrated, take a long break, then semi-breeze thru it)

The last boss is a complete bastard. It took me about 20 tries to finally take him down on Normal. Whoever can finish this on Hard is definitely a hardcore gamer.

Hehehe, It took me about 15 tries. The first 10 were for figuring out how the hell to not DIE when that high-pitched tone happens, then like 5 pink lazers hit you at the same time. I figured it out on accident on about my 10-12th time. Then it only took a few times of timing it right. I beat the 3rd form the first time that I got to it. I am working on beating the game on hard, I think that I will finish tonight.

This, above all else, is why I honestly can't stand about 99.9% of games released today on next-gen consoles. I'm sick and tired of being told that a game is simply "challenging" when it's obvious that the AI was not designed to give the player a fair chance in the first place.

Hell, every racing game I've played on the PS2 and GC including arcade racers such as Burnout 1 and 2 rely on pure luck instead of actual gaming knowledge and skill. And that's just one freaking genre. Almost every single game I've rented in the past few years for the current next-gen consoles has been beyond difficult, but why?

Was the game itself hard to understand; no. It was because of cheap AI that for some reason, developers love to throw in each and every game. A lot of people have said that games today are to easy. Well, where are they? Because from my point of view, an honest gaming challenge hasn't been made in years.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my rambling. I just had to get that off my chest.

EQ: Seriously go rent Panzer Dragoon Orta! All skill, no luck. There was never any element of luck when I beat that the first time. If you couldent do it you died, when you figured out how to do it, you survived. Great if that is what your looking for.

It took 20 tries for me before I dropped Hiruko like a bad habit( took so long cause I couldn't avoid him when he actually attacks ). All I did was use the same tactic of killing off the underlings and going for the boss routine. Repeat that three to four times and avoid his various attacks and he'll be a memory, it is possible it's just a waiting game.

I have no problem avoiding the regular attacks at all ...there are 3 elements that make it fustrating :

When I try to rack up the TATE the enemies somehow totally avoid getting hit while I am trying to attack them .....even though I am using the targeting system ...((hence the R-1 button crapping)) and these enemies only stay around for 5-8 seconds ...ridiclous !!
the only 2 things that seem to hurt my life energy are the fireballs from the talismans and Hiruko's teleporting attack ...wich is only about 33% avoidable ..

For the lil eniemes shadow dashing behind them comes in handy( the lil bastards do have a habit of runing away ) but I try to make it so that they all follow me so I can nail most of em while they are bunched together while Hiruko dances in the background like an kid on ritalin. The lil talisman's short life/slashed span is short annoyingly short but believe me get a bunch for the tate and pop hiruko you'll be amazed at how much life you take off of him, if you can also stock up on the ninja magic so that you can use the force field, have you also tried changing the lock on option to where you only need to press it once to turn it on?

I like getting new controllers every once in a while anyway. once I get new controllers I do custom combos on capcom vs snk 2. They work very tight on the combos when you buy new ones and your combos shall come through sharper and better than normal. New controllers are A + in my book.

I get new controlers cause they come in diffrent colors( blue is my fave color :D ) so it's obvious to which color never leaves port 1

(Darth Vader voice) Most impressive!

Now that's dedication! I was this way when I was playing Contra SS. I was so hell-bent of finishing Stage 6 that it affected me on a deeper level. You don't know how awesome it was when I finally killed the asshole... then I watched the thing come back to life :(. Oh well, finishing stage 6 was quite a relief. I had had enough stress for the time being. :)
