build one, theres a site somewhere that teaches you how to build an arcade quality dance pad. Not sure how much it'll cost you though.

didn't you have a metal one? what happened to it?
Oh yeah, that motherfucking gay dance pad! very_ang It SUCKS! blow_top Doesn't work anymore! very_ang DO NOT BUY IT!!! Anyways, i am looking for a new pad, becuase my soft pad's left buttons is very responsive. I was first thinking of buy DDRMAX, but my friend gave me his Konamix, and it seems like DDRMAX has only a few songs (that i like) that Konamix doesn't have. So i am thinking of buying a new pad.

I hate to say that I told you so. But I told you so.

Anyway, like I said before. Find a Konami brand pad on eBay that's in good condition. They're the best around. Hell, even the cheap ass $15 dollar ones at EB last quite a while.

You should get one of RedOctane's flat pads with a non slip cover. Don't mess with that fluffy ass padded crap. Those are awful. I don't think it'll last as long as a Konami pad, but it'll last long enough. They work pretty well too.

I always thought that the ignition pad 2.0 was the best soft dance pad on the market. What is wrong with it? I read a review from www.ddrseattle.com and they said it was a very good pad...

I'm not at home right now so I cant tell you the brand that I have but I love the hell out of it.
When I went to a competition I noticed that the Konami pads were too small. They are even smaller than the Arcade ones so I hate those. but this link to make my own souds sweet.

I played on an Ignition 2.0 at a friend's house and thought it was pretty damn good. It only slid around when I did MAX300 Extra Stage, and I passed an 8-song Oni course on the first try, half of those songs being US exclusive ones that I had never played before...

so, uh, yeah

Why does mog hate the pad so much if it is a good pad?

It's not that it's unresponsive or anything. They're just too fluffy and weird feeling. Unless you've been playing for a while and have very good balance when playing I wouldn't reccomend them.
