Jap-only snes rpgs

I heared about translated versions of some of these games. I have some questions:

- were they actually released on the SNES/SFCM or they are just ROMs

- are they legal or illegal ?

- can I buy them from somewhere ?

they are roms and work well if completed.

You can play them on a copy box if you'd like, they take up just as much space as the original roms

Wrong. Some take up a lot more. I cannot remember the name, but one is 4 megs... but with the translation patch, it turns into 6. I have a disk drive on my SNES, but it only holds 32 megabits. If I want the translation, I'm out of luck.

Actually I was curious how many games, and what are they, have been translated in this way. I know fo a couple like:

Tales of Phantasia
Dragon Warrior 6
Secret of Mana 3

Translated RPGs are one of the best examples of Roms being put to good use.
