Anybody seen "Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai"?

I'm reminded of the movie everytime I see Ghost Dog's avatar <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> The previews looked sweet and was wondering if it's the same case with the movie itself. Is he like a black The Professional, or a ghetto Jubei or a combination of both. Forest Whitaker is a good actor and am curious if he pulled it off.

I don't know, I fell alseep watching it while my ride from work was getting high with his friends. I'm sure Ghost-Dog could tell you all about it.

Seriously though, it is a great film and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

I wouldn't really compare it to the Professional... It's about a modern day mafia assassin who follows the bushido code with unwavering loyalty to the mob boss who saved his life. So he gets involved in a bad hit, and has to try and save face with his master while the rest of the family is trying to kill him.

Think of it as Zen and gritty urban hip-hop style mixed together in the guise of a hitman flick.

And RZA produced the score, so if you like his beats in Wu-Tang, you'll definitely dig the soundtrack.

The DVD is out and Wal-Mart has it for like $15. It's got a lot of bonus footage and whatnot, so it's definitely a good purchase.

I'm going to come out with a movie myself. It's going to be called: "Ghost Dong: The Way of the SID". In it, the hero is abiding by the code of abstinence, while constantly warring with his "ghost" who wants to go bangin every hot chick in sight. "I'm not a player, I just crush alot", it mutters. It's the story of a real life poonTANG banger. Cocked and locked for the honeys. But he don't love them hoes.
