Help with Castlevania Chronicles...

Hey there people. I just got this game in, and I popped it in my Playstation. It seemed to boot up normally, it went to the Konami Screen, and then it said a bunch of shit in Japanese. After I hit a couple buttons it says more shit in Japanese, and it appears that I have two choices. Regardless of which choice I hit it goes to the same screen saying more shit in Japanses, and then back to the two choices. Does anybody have any idea what I can do? My System is modded, I got it modded about two years ago, so I'm fearing that my mod is out of date... But I heard that this game doesn't have any mod protection. I remembered hearing that I could get a Game Shark and it would allow me to play any Imports... If I got a Game Shark would I be able to play this? My system also seems to have problems playing the second disc of Strider 2. If I got a Game Shark would I be able to play that? If a Game Shark wouldn't work, how much it cost to have the latest mod installed in my system? Does anybody trustworthy here do Playstation mods? I would really appreciate some help with this as I was really looking forward to playing this game and I'm quite pissed off that is doesn't work... Hope to hear from somebody soon.

It's the only game I know of that requires a memory card to be inserted before you can continue...

Hey there. Thanks for the fast reply... My memory card was in every time I tried it. I even cleaned off 3 blocks of space since it was full the first time I tried it. I tried it on the Bleem! Demo and it did the exact same thing <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Make sure that you've got a memory card inserted and when the "choices" pop up at the Japanese text screen, pick the option that looks like this: はい (that means "yes"). はい is the top option and should be selected by pressing the "O" button. The text concerns loading memory card data, but I can't read some of the kanji, therefore keeping me from being able to give an exact translation of the text. Although I've been studying Japanese for two years now, my sensei has focused mostly on conversational skills and hasn't taught us enough kanji...

Thank you!!! That's what my problem was, I was hitting 'X' so I guess I was cancelling it... I eventually hit all the buttons, but I guess I wasn't hitting 'O' at the right time or something <IMG SRC="smilies/loco.gif" border="0"> Oh well, it's working now... This game is really cool, it reminds me a lot of Castlevania IV. I think Simon looks kinda fruity in both forms, he definitely looks cooler in the Arranged version, but I think overall Richter from Rondo of Blood looks a lot better than them both.
