Well, I currently am in that stage. Right now, I'm into sport and shooter games..... not bad genres to replace the fighting genre!

So, any of y'all ever been burnt out of the fighting genre? Or even, just video games in general? Spit it out!

To me fighters and shooters top my list. If I get sick of one, I switch to the other. And if I cant play either, puzzle games satisfy.

I used to be big into RPG's, but for some reason, I cant find one that I enjoy anymore. Maybe I'm just sick of the RPG genre. I played PSO for a while and got burned out of that from over-play. I was going to get psyched about version2 until I found out I have to pay for the online shit. No RPGs for a while...

I do get sick of fighting games at some points, but only 2 puzzle games managed to pull me away. The first puzzle game that really got my interest was Kirby's Avalanche for SNES and Bust A Move(god I love this game).

I get burned out on video games on occasion. A good cure is to go back and play some classic NES and Genesis games, as well as whatever arcade games were around during my youth.

Yeah, every so often I get out of video games. Then, after realizing I have nothing else to do, I'm back (that's usually within a week).

I'm facing this off and on myself.

I was out of fighters from '93-'99.

Then I heard KoF '98 was coming for DC around launch.
I became a fighting maniac.
Ever since KoF 98 on DC, I've bought every fighter I could get my hands on.

I've also recently gotten back into 3D fighters. Was into Tekken when it first came out, got sick of it. Soul Caliber got me interested for a short time. Now Project Justice, with its colorful graphics, easy to pull combos, and Capcom character designs got me into 3D fighters full force.

As far as RPGs go, I'd like to be interested in them, but have gotten sick of them. Boring. The last few good ones that I've gotten really into have been PSO, Skies of Arcadia, Star Ocean, and Dragon Warrior II on GBC.

I have always loved fighting games the most out of all other types of games. Of course, now and then I get out of gaming for a short while for whatever reason (usually work or a new g/f), but after I've taken care of the real world, I get right back on the horse. I would say fighting games are the hardest for me to get burned out on, however. Even if I'm not into games, I can still pick up a fighter and kick a little ass for about half an hour.

With that said, I'm back in full video game swing. I'm getting near the end of Final Fantasy 5, and am cruising right along in Jet Grind Radio, too. Not to mention my constant Street Fighter 3 third strike playing.

No, but it was close after my experience with DOA2 AKA most expensive frisbee I ever bought.
KOF is just too damn good to get tired of.

Like some others here, the only genre I ever get really sick of is RPG's, which is where I'm at right now. Even Valkyrie Profile doesn't interest me at this point.

And Spike, I'm with you on Third Strike. Why it's almost dead in the US is a mystery to me, too.
