Whos your favorite Punk band, and dont mean Blink 182, or Sum 41, or New Found Glory. I mean real Punk. My favorites are Lag Wagon, NOFX, Misfits, Dag Nasty, Gwar, Brahman, and AFI.

mmmm... nobody mentioned the Circle Jerks and DOA <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" />

"Group Sex" remains one of the 4 most important American punk albums...

Motorhead is not a Punk band...

Or you think that doing a cover of a Pistols' song is all you need to be that?

i hate most of those bands.

I like grindcore, crust, and power violence.

in my opinion, punk is so fucking trendy now a days.
Yea, i was into the general punk like last year, then it was a trend so i moved on to grindcore, crust, sludge stuff.
Still a type of punk, but its more underground.
i mean when you find pre-manufactered "punk" cloths at a store called hot topic, you know its a trend. and when any "punk" band has a video on mtv you now its a trend: I.e. that horrible band rancid.

Mooky, punk was a trend before you were born. Before me too. Being DIY is great especially if you're political beyond that. But just doing it to be punk well that's another story.

Oh and the Casualties suck big time. Yeah I set up a show for em 5 years ago but I regretted it. That drunk 77 punk is so fucking whack!
Also SlapShot? Lol! Cronic Masturbator was great. :)

Me I like good Oi, Hardcore, Anarcho Punk, Ska, Reggae, Rocksteady, Hip-hop. Whatever.
Some of these bands were mentioned before but who cares? In no particular order. I could add a couple of hundred more but I think people get the point.

Angelic Upstarts

The Press

Ooop, forgot:

The Clash - London Calling

Elevator! Going up!
In the gleaming corridors of the 51st floor
The money can be made if you really want some more
Executive decision-a clinical precision
Jumping from the windows-filled with indecision

I get good advice from the advertising world
Treat me nice says the party girl
Koke adds life where there isn't any
So freeze, man, freeze

You, m'boy need a history lesson on punk in general. Try some '78 ish punk on those funny big black disks.

By the way, not liking something because it's trendy is also trendy. It's a slippery slope. Try not caring what people think and just enjoy things because they are good.

Couldn't have said it better myself Briggs. What are you into man? Were u ever a Skin?

I've been wanting to ask Lou Gojira that as well. He's got a stars and bars flag and his avatar is Russel Crowe as Hondo. The head Bonhead (nazi skin) from Romper Stomper.

NOFX is an awsome punk band. You probably just havnt heard some of their best songs like "Its My Job To Keep Punk Rock Elite". Or stuff off their new album like "Fuck The Kids" or "Drugs Are Good". Oh yeah I almost forgot the Pixies, and Suicidel Tendencies.
