You can't play Mega CD game on Sega CD.

I've tried Ernest Evans MEga CD on my Sega CD 1, 2, and CDX and none of them can play

There is aconverter available, but it's un-reliable, since it doesn't work on every game. Time to get a Mega Drive and Mega CD!

I don't recommend Mega CD convertor as the price is way too high ($39 - $59)

I was looking one last summer and a thug from Brazil (and he's NG.com member) told me he had one.
I asked him how much and he told me he prefered trading some Neo games. I said Neo game(s)? What kinda games? He told me since Mega CD convertor is rare (yeah right) so he didn't want common Neo AES games. He wanted KOF something like that. I told him to fuck off......
KOF my ass.....

I got brand new Mega CD for $60 so what the fuck I need that damn convertor all the way from Brazil?

Plus there are two versions of convertor and it's pain of ass to find out which game(s) will not work properly.

BTW, you can hookup US Genesis to JPN Mega CD without any problem......that's the way I'm doing and both work perfectly

There are programs on the net to get you around these if you have a cd burner.

Any CD? Are you talking about Audio CD or what?

Don't spread rumor, please

I have Genesis 1-3, Sega CD 1&2, Mega CD 2 and CDX and I've tried every thing to test out

CDX will not play Mega CD (JPN) game.

If CDX can play CD game from any region, please take a picture so we'll believe what you say.

DATEL is the company who manufactured Mega CD convertor

Unless your CDX got moded or using convertor then there is no way you can play import game on your CDX (unless you got JPN CDX)

Bit confused here - was the multimega called a cdx in the states

The datel cart i have is called a cdx pro, you sit the cartridge into your mega drive.

Switch on the power and you go to the cd page and insert the Jap game, close the drawer and after a few seconds the tab which runs the games highlights and thats you

In the uk it was called a Datel cdx pro, i dont think the sega cdx machine was ever released in the uk

I took this from Videogame imports website:

Pro CDX Converter | Universal
Mega/Sega CD | Datel | Accessories
Allows you to play Mega/Sega CD games from all regions an any Mega CD1 system. Is not compatible with Mega CD2, and as far as we know, Multi Mega/CDX, WonderMega and Laser Active systems.

The link is:

Datel pro cdx converter

click on that then once the web page has booted up click on the little tabs at the top (select)

mega/segacd/all/all

yes you can... but...

You'll have to burn a backup and change the region code.

The only way without modifying your console or without any species of unreliable converters.

Attention, it does not work in all games, but the majority will do.
