Well, thanks to a recent post by Neo Jedi (and the kudos recieved, thanks :D ), I was reminded that it's been 8 months since Buster Broon and I decided to find out what the members of this site thought were the best games they ever played.

At first we thought of the standard Top 100 but then decided that after 50, it gets very diluted so we stuck with the current format.

Well, after all this time and seeing as how we have a slew of new members here (and there also seems to be a lot more people here online than 8 months ago), lets see if the list is different from the last one.

The rules are simple, yet slightly different than last year, in which we all picked our Top 10 and points were given to each game based on it's rank:

1. Pick the Top 5 games you have ever played IN ORDER (ie, 1 is your favorite, 2 is second favorite, etc...).

2. Points will be awarded to the games you have chosen in the following format: 1=10 points, 2=9 points, 3=8 points, 4=7 points, 5=6 points.

3. You can then pick another 5 games (rounding out your Top 10), but they can be in any order. 2 points will be awarded for the remaining five for each game. This ensures that only the very best games in our opinion get the most points.

4. Please state which system a certain game is for (SNES, ARCADE, XBOX, etc...). While a lot of games that are multiplatform will be piled together (SF2 Turbo for example) since the game was good on all platforms, some games that we're very different on multiple platforms will be awarded points separately.

Although it's not easy to pick a Top 10, it might be easier picking a Top 5, as the remaining games you might love, you may just love all the same and picking one over the other becomes difficult.

We'll have this poll until Friday Febuary 7, which should give us all enough time to post out favorites.

Here's my list:

1. NHL '94 (Genesis)
2. Resident Evil: Code Veronica (DC)
3. Baseball Stars 2 (NG)
4. Halo (XBOX)
5. International Superstar Soccer 2000 (N64)

Honorable mentions:

6. Super Punch Out (SNES)
7. King of Fighters 98 (NG)
8. Street Figher 2:SCE (Genesis)
9. Pirates! Gold (Genesis)
10. NHL 2K3 (XBOX)

EDIT: Fixed the RE mixup :o

Argentina94:
thanks to a recent post by Neo Jedi
Thanks to you for building the list, both last time and this time. :)

Now, on to the ranking:
1. Dungeons & Dragons 2: Shadow Over Mystara (arcade)
2. Star Control 2: The Ur-Quan Masters (PC)
3. Samurai Shodown 4: Amakusa's Revenge (NG)
4. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (arcade)
5. Ninja Gaiden 2 (NES)

Honorable mention:
6. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PSX)
7. The Last Blade (NG)
8. Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX)
9. Garou: Mark of the Wolves (NG)
10. Betrayal at Krondor (PC)

Note: The best part of the Street Fighter Collection (PSX/Saturn) is Super Turbo, and the best part of the D&D Collection (Saturn import) is SOM, so you may want to combine those.

Note 2: To counter the limited availability of what I consider to be the greatest PC game of all time (Star Control 2), the original creators are driving a freeware project to port the 3DO version to modern PC's. The project is in alpha phase, but the Melee is already very close to being as good as it used to be, check here for the alpha version and for updates.

One of the reasons I did this was also to see how everyone's picks would differe from their last list. regardless if any game since has entered their all-time fav list.

I'm sure mine also did, wothout even thinking about it either.
