For history students, what are you learning now? Do you like history?
For non-history students, do you like history?

I'm asking because I missed history lessons after getting to a Pure Physics, Combine Science of Bio/Chem class glee , but no history crying

I like History.

Last semester i took human prehistory and United States History before 1877. This semester i have United States History after 1877. I am also taking Archaeology this semester. United States history isn't the best but i will be taking cooler history classes next semester.

Are your history results good?

American history is great stuff, but the real intrigue is across US borders. I really dig history, and it's a pity I'm not taking it now.

However, I've taken a great deal of Middle Eastern History and some Armenian History, and since I'm a Political Science major there's a lot of history in that as well. Right now I'm learning about the Political Economy of Africa... and it's as entertaining as it is informative- thanks to a good teacher.

I really like History. Maybe it's just the way my teacher teaches it...but either way, I like that subject the best lately, next to Philosophy.

Funny that you should mention that. I've been majoring in math and physics for the past 3.5 years. I missed history enough to look into doing the minor (about two years ago). presently, i'm enjoying history so much, that I'm working out the logistics of a triple major (too damn close to graduating with the other two to simply give them up).

I really like Asian history (literally almost *anything* from the middle east to Japan). However, being technically minded as I am, I find myself fascinated with the history of the science and mathematical principles that I employ on a regular basis. It just gives one some perspecive somehow.

blow history off.

I would never want to live in this world without knowing science. Would be sooo sad. History classes were always cool because they were cake ass easy compared to everything else. Just sit and listen or read.

I'm pretty sharp at history, it still even pervades law school classes (particularly Con Law).

You can never have too much History, it teaches lessons that will guide us from making mistakes.

I like learning history stuff. I like learning about wars and interesting political stuff more though. And I like learning about presidents because they are fun.

US history is where it's at.

Bah, History is pointless, highly highly overrated class. History all you have to do is pay attention and/or study a lot. Too much writing also. Math is my league. Understanding, problem solving, criticial thinking, logic.. these all take BRAINS. Not a ton of facts to memorize.

I didn't really get interested in history until after I had left college.

Most of the time, it's seeing a movie or television program that gets me interested in doing some reading on the subject.

After seeing the movie "Zulu" with Michael Caine and Stanley Baker I got really interested in the various British colonial expeditions in Africa. The most interesting book I've read recently is collection of diaries kept by several enlisted men and officers who were part of the force led by Kitchener to Omdurman. Great stuff.

Shoot, I love history. E-mail me if you need anything because I can tell you. World and U.S. history I can do for you. I just finished talking about the dust storm and the Great Depression. Right now I'm into WWII.

You are like one of my many friends who hate history, but I don't like maths much.

Its important to know history simply so you will not be ignorant. Personally i think history is fascinating. I think the history of technology and mathematics and advents in science are especially interesting (Who has seen the Connections series?! - its the best!). World history is my favorite though. You can tie in history to almost any subject as well. Besides how you can know where your going if you don't know where you came from?

Many of my classmates dislike history because of the dates and names(me too), but I like history because of the stories and the past, but it's funny that I hate literature!

Dates and names aren't so much important as long as you know the sequence events happened in why. I do agree that stories history tells us are very interesting.
