well, this is sort-of an odd question.

While I was packing a Turbo Espress the other night... I was looking at the back of the box. I noticed it showed Bonk's adventure, bloody wolf and a few other hu-cards to the bottom left. the
picture wasof the actual hu-card "advertising" the games.

WEll... I took a close look and I noticed that the hucards all had stickers on them... they were thick and you could tell they were raised up.

Now, I have never seen a sticker on a tg hu-card. Are there TG hu-cards that have stickers like these?

All my HuCards (both Japanese and American) have their designs painted (or screened on). No stickers.

The only cards I own that have stickers are from 2 "pirate" Hucards made by a company called "King" games that I bought through an auction from vglq.com. The games I bought were Kyakuyu Tiger (twin cobra) and Chase HQ which were advertised as being the genuine thing. Those cards have stickers on them.

It wasn't uncommon for game companies to mock up their products for advertising purposes back in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Keep in mind that the original Genesis system packaging (that came with Altered Beast) clearly showed a Mega Drive cart plugged into a mocked up Genesis system that didn't even have it's power light on!

*looks at his collection of hu's*

well, i originally noticed that too. i had bonk for tg16 and kyukyoku tiger for pce, and of course tiger heli had a sticker and bonk didnt, so i thought it was a jap us thing.

i i never thought that tiger heli was a boot. its just like how the EA games for genesis are in a different cart. atleast thats what i thought.

all my hus, with the exception of the questionable tiger heli, have screened on pics. ranging from us/canadian ones from bonk to air zonk, and jap hus starting from this ninja game, its like from 89, to this namco baseball game in 91, all a wide range of developers and years, all have screend on images.

How hard is Tiger Heli to find? Is it us?
How did it compare to the NES version?

I've got it too.. Hmm.. Not sure if it's really Tiger Heli, probably some sort of sequel actually.

Either that or the NES version is different.

It's a pretty decent game none the less.

I can put some footage up if you'd like? (Gimme a day or two.)

As you said td741, it's a kind of sequel, and a totally seperate game to Tiger Heli.

My Kyu Tiger Hucard has the pic printed on, definitely not a sticker. :)

It a vertical helicopter shoot-em-up with pretty much the same setup as Tiger Heli made by Taito.

Looking it up on KLOV, Kyuukyoku Tiger was the Japanese name for "Twin Cobra". :p

Ahhh... http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=K&game_id=1644

yeah.. there was a Twin Cobra for the NES or SNES ... I think..

that was a rather cool game... or maybe I am thinking cobra command...

AHHHHH.

But anyhoo... could some of these hu-cards with stickers be more rare than others?

How much does that "twin cobra" cost?

If a HUcard has stickers, there's a good chance (like I explained) that it is a pirated game.

Hmm... My Twin Cobra has a sticker, but it's in the normal flat sealed card. If it's a raised card (like an ACPro or SFII'CE) then it might be pirate.

Anyway added footage of Kyuukyoku Tiger (aka Twin Cobra) along with the following PCE games: Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special, World Heroes 2, Godzilla and Kabuki Itouryoudan (something like taht. :p )

Same place as usual...

I own a SF2CE and the design is screened on, but the cart has the raised plastic like the CD ROM System cards. Post a picture of yours so I can verify...

The raised Hucards are legit...Populous, the ROM Ram cards, CD system cards, etc used this design due to the fact that they contain more memory/etc than could fit in a standard "flat" HuCard.

As long as the SF2CE design is painted or silkscreened on the plastic (and the usual warning stuff on the back is painted/screened), then it's probably legit. IF it's a sticker (which I doubt for Street Fighter), then it's a pirate card.

I have a pretty decent PC ENgine collection, so I can tell you that what I've explained is pretty much correct. All my cards (except for the King Games pirate cards) feature painted art.

ANOTHER WAY TO TELL IF YOU HAVE A PIRATE GAME is to check the manual that came with the game...King Game counterfeits don't have a booklet, but rather a fold-out poster that contains the instructions to the game.

Liquid Snake is also a big PC ENgine collector so he can pretty much vouch for everything I've just said being correct.
