I just broke it out and was giving it a go. The game is damn hard but it's a lot of fun. There is so much going on at once!

Sorry, I was looking at some of the shooters for the Neo and I just happen to be near my DC.

Mars Matrix rocks on the dreamcast. My fav aracade-shooter and there´s tons of extras on the DC version.

Great game, I played it for a month... try it on hard, it gets even crazier.

Mars Matrix is one of the best, most overlooked shooters...EVER. The amount of shit to unlock is breathtaking; to fully complete the game you need weeks.

The game is a challenge; a HUGE challenge. There's something about riskin your life for that extra money that makes this game kick all amounts of ass. The music is fitting for the game: flashy, fast and absurd. Two player, things can get confusing...but it's still awesome.

This game is really overlooked, and one day I bet it'll be worth more than $20 bucks a pop.

I bought this game on whim. I had heard of it before but didn't know if it was any good. But, I was bored and wanted something new to play and saw that it was a shooter.

This game is simply amazing. It was one of the reasons I got an dc arcade stick (that and ikaruga). This game, and schmups in general, needs to be played with an arcade stick. It's an ethereal experience. I haven't gotten past level 2 yet and I'm playing it on the normal arcade settings (I'm guessing this is what the developers meant to played on, I'll try hard later) and I still love every minute. The use of the cannon and mosquito gun is so well implemented. I love the fact that you are literally fighting for your life in the game, hoping to charge you mosquito gun up to clear the screen. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

It's a great vert shooter that doesn't require you to flip your monitor! :D A ton of extra's, VGA support, even includes some decent demo's of how to get through the stages in case your stuck.

The gameplay is very fun, truly worthy to play on the DC; if you like MM, check out Giga Wing 2, another Takumi shooter that I really enjoy!

Outside of Night Raid for PSX, how come Takumi hasn't developed any more shooters for current consoles?...

Very very bad game. I hate it. I hate shooters where you're pressured to collect shit. I hate shooters where it just fills the screen haphazardly with bullets. Mars Matrix is guilty of both of these to the highest degree. You get trapped all the damn time, but of course you could save your invincibility shit til you're trapped... Dammit! I don't want to have to rely on that all the time. It should be there to HELP you, not necessitated. Like in Radiant Silvergun, the sword move is helpful but never necessary. You never have to use it to live. You need to be doing the absorb thing all the time In MM. I hate it. It's not beautiful like Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun. It's a brute.

I could never get into Mars Matrix. I mean, I like those insane Cave shooters, but those give you generous collision detection... the collision box in Mars Matrix seems too damn big to be able to survive all those bullets. Hell, I consider myself "above average" at the least when it comes to shooting games, but MM is just too damn hard for me to ever make much progress on one credit. I never came close to getting past Stage 4 on one credit, it's just too fucking insane and it feels like there's nothing I can do. And then I watch the "Tutorial" videos and I'm humbled... but I just can't duplicate that play :(

anyways, I just never really enjoyed the game enough. I think Giga Wing is a much better game.
