This is that great store in N.J that sells all kinds of Vintage/New Video Game stuff.
Neo Geo etc..Cabs
videogameconnections.com

A few members here have went to this place and had good things to say about the store.

The owner "Mike" is a friend of mine and I'm surprised he really decided to get out of the business.
The may be liquidating stock and they had a few cabs the last time I was there.
The Email I got today..http://www.videogameconnections.com/

Before getting in to the meeting details, I have an important announcement about the store. As some of you know, I have been looking in to the possibility of selling the business or at the very least to close the retail end of things. After months of discussions with potential buyers and talks to the landlord about an early termination of our lease, we have found a replacement tennant and will be closing the store February 16th. I will be continuing mail order operations and will be working out plans for future meetings, though there could be a span of six months or so before things are set. It has been a great privelage to be able to host these gatherings for some six years now and a big thanks to everyone that has attended for helping make them possible.

As the subject says, the final meeting at the store will be Feb 15th. Same time as always (5pm 'til whenever) and if anyone has any questions, feel free to email me.

I made my first trek to that store in december and i was really impressed. It's a real throwback to what Video game stores *SHOULD* be like.

Damn shame.. gonna have to trek over there one last time.

I'm seriously mad about this!

What other place in the Greater Philadelphia area can you go to and have an INTELLIGENT and INFORMED RotD and KOF2002 conversation with the guy working and not have it go like:

1. Yeah, I got it on emulation.
2. Neo geo? They *still* make games for that?
3. MvC2 ownzzz j000.
4. My name is Makismo, I work at a game store and I'll h4x0r y3r s1t3!
5. Games are still in 2-d?

I talked with the guy for about an hour and a half about Neo, Neo CD and tons of games and stuff. I think the guy was just as excited to see another Neo fan as I was!

Honestly, and this sounds campy.. and I hate peopl who are like this.. but I will miss that place. I went there 2 or 3 times over the last month or so and I was thoroughly impressed. It was probably the best vintage game store I have ever seen and there wasn't a moron in the house.

It's really sad.

Well, I'm going to get back over there this weekend and send the place off in style. ($$$.. heh heh heh)

Damn shame.. while the gamestops and the EB games of the world flourish, truly great "gamer" oriented places get pushed by the wayside.

Oh My Goodness, VanillaThunder...I was just sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee thinking the same thing.

You know that quote could be used as a good sig.
