I'm stuck at work and bored as hell. So here's a bullshit boredom topic: Megadeth or Metallica?
Pick one or the other, NO " I LIKE THEM BOTH".

I pick Megadeth over Metallica any day of the week.

Megadeth can't touch the first 3 Metallica albums, but as a whole, Megadeth's catalog is overall better than Metallica.

So many classic albums, all with GREAT cover art to boot.

And Mustaine is a great frontman, amazing all the shit he's put up with to keep his band going.

So many classic tracks - Tornado of Souls, Holy Wars, Peace Sells, Hook In Mouth, Family Tree, Skin o My Teeth, Sweating Bullets, Train Of Consequences, Ashes In Your Mouth, She Wolf...

A (almost) consistently great band. I can never 'click' with Metallica the same way.

Neither. I prefer much "heavier" stuff than both bands.

Not that they don't have talent (they do, more so than I could ever hope to have), I just don't like either band.

Have you heard Diamond Head, Sam? Years back I picked up their Lightning to the Nations LP, and I was blown away by how much better the originals are than the Metallica covers. Great NWOBHM going on there.

Verbatum, you must be thinking the Friedman era of Megadeth, because Killing - So Far, it was mostly penatonics with straight-forward riffing. Friedman brought a large understand of theory and harmony into Megadeth and I think that's what makes his era awesome as well. Let's just hope Dave learned something from Marty

*Edit - You talking about Undisputed Attitude, Sam? That's the only punk cover thing I can think of that Slayer has done. "Disintegration/Free Money" is a fucking killer track on that
