Well its been a long time coming but my team and I have gotten my site into a semi-usable state.

<a href="http://vgrebirth.org" target="_blank">http://vgrebirth.org</a>

It's basically an online database of console games where users can compile lists of their own collections based on our listings.

Register for the site and the forum...and enjoy the ride.

(Yes the Neo-Geo section is still lacking...that's Talen's territory)

/me kicks Talen

It takes time to enter in info...we currently have 2000 handtyped entries in the database.

Well you'll be happy to hear that once we get the user submission section in place that you can enter all the info for us. Then you can get your games quicker!

Are you going to use that cuecat thing still or did you give up on that idea?

Cuecats work..just put the cursor in the search box..scan in a barcode and the game entry will pop-up. (assuming the barcode is in the database)

I should edit this to mention that you need a program such as catnip running in the tasktray to decode the encrypted cuecat data. lemme go find a link:

<a href="http://goldsteinsoftware.com/catnip.htm" target="_blank">http://goldsteinsoftware.com/catnip.htm</a>

You know what would be totally fucking awesome in a way that only I can think about?

If someone designed a "System Wars" website where there was a seperate board for every major system since the '90s and you could only register for one board. That would be like your clan or whatever and then there were flamage and war boards where everyone could post and just flame the fuck out of eachother with false facts and threats of violence. Then you could go back to your respective system board and talk with friends and stuff and plan or whatever then when the time is right head back to the war boards and flame some bitch a new one.

Man this is sweet I gotta plan this some more (I won't cuz I'm lazy though)...

EDIT: And please don't say this site does exist, it's called GAMEFAQS. Thanks.

It has to do with spaces in the usernames..the system is supposed to prompt the user that no spaces are allowed. We are looking into the validation now.

I see that you are both in the site. I guess you got around the error somehow

VERY nice site, btw.

Make the interface a bit easier for entering your game DB, though.. I didn't even bother because of it!

Well considering the thousands of games out there there really isn't a good "quick way" of entering the games into the database. i think going into the profile and adding them in is as good a system as any.

I can sign up for your community. i figured the spacing was the problem, so i changed it. however, i cannot sign up for the forums.
when i try to re-register as KidAphex, without the space, it says: "error, email already in use"

If you could delete that user named Kid[space]Aphex, or change the email in that profile, I could sign up for the forums.

Thanks!

Very appealing design, I like it.

Do you plan to add Nes, SNES, and Genesis?

You must have a lot of free time on your hands to be able to do a big catalog system like that....

In due time we will be adding as many systems as possible. We will have a feature that will allow users to submit game information which we then approve and put out in the database..most likely this is when the 8 and 16 bit systems will get rolled out.
