UK: Man Beheads Thatcher, gets Jail-time (it was a statue)

BRITAIN: JAIL FOR MAN WHO BEHEADED THATCHER STATUE
A man who decapitated a marble statue of Margaret Thatcher, a former prime minister, was sentenced yesterday to three months in jail. The man, Paul Kelleher, 37, said he slugged the statue with a cricket bat and a metal pole in July as an artistic expression of protest against global capitalism. Despite his explanation, a jury found him guilty of criminal damage last month. Passing sentence yesterday, Judge George Bathurst-Norman said he respected the sincerity of Mr. Kelleher's beliefs, but that the court had a duty to protect property. (AP)

He was only doing what every right-minded UK citizen really wanted to do.
