Yeah, I had him for a few classes. We always joked about him being a terriorst and that he would kill us all... His brother was being held on terrorist charges, and this mans demenor... odd to say the least. Anyway, he has been under investigation forever, and now he is in custody... Did I mention he gave me a C... rot in hell smirk

Oh come on, it's not that bad.

I'm with Tom Ridge on this one. Dont make distinctions between the terrorists who kill...or the people who fund them.

Hey, we did it to the Japanese in WWII. It could happen again. This may be escalating to say, WWIII?

Lets see two college professors brought in for possible terrorist ties. One deported the other just grabbed how do you go from these two events to mass round ups?

Ooo! :D

Seriously though,

That's a big WHOA Nick!

Even if he was innocent of intentionally funding terrorist, sounds (from that article) that his organization, at best, functioned in a "gray area" that, in these times, would work against him.

Nice... looks like that is a good linkable page for the future.

As for Sami... the guy was smart, too smart for his own good. He really was an ass at times, but he could be cool to. It is hard for me to believe that he was heading up this jihad... Still, I doubt the axe would have swung like this if there wasn't atleast solid proof that he was involved in aiding terrorist.

He taught Computer design and Discrete Logic. He would ramble off chip numbers if someone questioned his logic. His tests were amazingly hard... actually, we took each test twice (not the same test, but similar subject material) then averaged the grades... then multiplied by two... There were still people who got like 38s after this :) One time he gave us a test over stuff that was never taught to us, and wasn't in our book... We laughed it off, thought he mixed up test.. or said he was probably looking for smart kids to recruit as terrorists... Sami was never wrong, you didn't have a word in either way. Anyway, it is kind of crazy to see my old prof on every major news site (front page main story mind you)...

This all started when he first appeared on the O'Reilly Factor back in 2001.

I hope he doesn't try to kill O'Reilly now, that would really suck.

i also had a computer teacher who was of middle eastern decent and he taught computer networking. he looked like a person who just goes to school and does his job since he is a part time instructor and would not harm a person. it would suck if he got arrested because of his ethnicity.

Actually from what I hear this guy was not arrested because of his ethnicity. It was because he was taking care of the funds for the Alqida (Sorry don't know how to spell it) in the US area.
At least if its the same guy that I have read about.

Well, we always suspected... I mean it was fun to joke about, but this was way before Sept 11th. You know, terrorists just didn't do stuff over here. So it was kind of intriguing at the same time as it was scarry. Really, I am not surprised, it is just kind of an odd thing,

You have to make a distinction. If I pay my tax I'm funding the military but I don't want to be considered a military target.

Nick,

I tried calling you (i left a message), but your professor was featured on the COVER of the NEW YORK TIMES (just no picture). I haven't read the whole article, but from what I saw on the newstand, his name is in it.

It's column 2 on the front, above the fold!!!

Grab a Saturday paper if you can.
