I really should be playing Guilty Gear X2 right about now...

Went ahead and splurged for one of the X-Arcade sticks (because I can't play fighters with a pad), and it was shipped out on Monday. Checking it's progress through the tracking number they sent me, and it looks to be all set for a delivery today, so I go ahead and grab the game at EB.

So I get home today, check in on the tracking number, and it's showing the stick as being delivered.

Only, of course, I don't have it.

I call Airborne's so-called "customer service" only to find out that they just dropped it off outside the door here (I live in a set of apartments). No leaving a note or even trying to get a signature.

Of course, they were supposed to call me back after checking with the driver, but do you think they actually followed through with what they promised? I had to call them back myself only to find that the original rep I spoke with never sent through a note to the delivery guy, so now the earliest I could hear back from them is tomorrow.

And they also said that if it doesn't show up, they need to file a claim for me to get my money back, and that could take up to 3 months! very_ang

So here I am, pissed off beyond belief at those fuckers at Airborne for their crappy attitude and shitty service. I'm going to contact X-Gaming tomorrow to see what they will do. Hopefully they stand behind their product and ship me out a replacement using a carrier that's actually decent to deal with.

If not, it looks like I'll be filing a dispute with my bank in order to get the money put back in my account.

Anyway, sorry about the rant. I just needed to get this off my chest.

Fucking Airborne - everyone at that company should be dragged out in the street and shot in the face!

[edit] - my mistake, it's actually a company called Airborne Exchange that's handling the shipping for X-Arcade, and not Airborne Express. Sorry about the confusion! wink

every time i order stuff they leave a note that no one was home and they would come back but once i ordered some eibach spring for my car and they left them on the back porch ... i live in a good neighborhood and they were intact but i was so mad that they would just leave them there for anyone to take very_ang

What's always amazed me (this is true of all carriers btw) is that if a package is worth $10 I have to go sign for it, but if it's worth $300 or more they just throw it on my front step. FedEx did that with my PS2 at launch, UPS did it with my Gamecube at launch, and USPS just on Tuesday left a $1200 arcade PCB just sitting in the snow outside my garage.

UPS is still the worst by far. I wouldn't ship with them if they offered it to me for free. very_ang

I work for a catalog order place as well with game stop so that sounds a bit fishy.
What airborn express does is delivers the package to either the local USPS or UPS. Then they will deliver it to you so either the person you talked to on the phone had no idea what they were talking about or it has been droped at one of those services already.

Well, just to update:

I spoke with X-Arcade and they're sending me out a new joystick (in fact, it shipped out today so I should hopefully have it either Saturday or Monday). This time though, I'm having it delivered to my fiance's parent's house as there's always someone there. And since they live only a few blocks from us, I'll just pick it up there when it arrives.

In the meantime, the folks at X-Arcade just asked me to forward them the paperwork for the refund from Airborne to them and they'll take it from there.

So, X-Arcade gets a big thumbs-up from me, while Airborne can still rot in hell! :D
