Right, Biomotor started it all!
He was the first one of you colonial types I ever heard use the term "Wanker"
(But he's got a 20mm rifle, so he can say whatever he likes!)
What I want to know is how many of our other sacred profanities have you stolen?

For example, do you now use:

Tosser,
Prick,
Twat,
Nonce.

If so, how do they travel across the pond? TV?

I don't know about 'Tosser' or 'Nonce', but Prick and Twat have been in common use here for decades, at least.

Nary a day goes by I don't use those two hehe

As for Wanker, well, personally I blame the film 'Trainspotting'.....

Yea Twat is one of my everyday words since i can remember and so is prick. I just started using Tosser because it pretty much sounds like my freinds last name which just moved here from England. Dont think ill be using Nonce anytime soon though.

You dont use Nonce!!!!!

Its a classic!

Its a name given by prison inmates to the Sex offenders who need to be kept in segregation. So it covers all manor of Rapists, child molesters and general perverts!

"Tosser" What a great word. I just love British vernacular just because it is so understated. Just the little day to day phrases you limey bastards use just seem so damn witty, because the humor within is so dry.

"Nonce" That's a new one. I like it!

Um, I would say videos, or watching the box in the U.K. itself.

Shagging seems to be picking up popularity around where I am in Canada, but rogering or bonkbusters let's say, have yet to become localized words. Twat spread quickly, though.

Poltroon basically means "gutless coward." It is the bastardized English version of a French insult, which leaped languages during the English occupation of France during the time of St. Jehanne D'Arc.

Here are some I've picked up and used myself (thanks to the internet):

Bugger (as in "Bugger Off!")
Wank (as in "What an incredibly wank effort")
Daft

Metal Slug, what's a Tosser? I've heard it but am 110% clueless what one is. Please enlighten us.

I remember "Poltroon" very well. That was one of the vocabulary words in my high school English class a few years back. 'Tis a stronger word than coward.

I've heard "Piss off, you nonce!" before. "Tosser" I think is short for "salad tosser". You guys can probably guess what that means... "Prick" is pretty commonly used from what I have heard. I know of "poltroon" because Offissa Pup in Krazy Kat always says "Halt, poltroon!"... What a damn fine comic. British insults really are better than yank insults... All we have anymore is "gay"

......

You Brits are so gay!

Well if you don't want it crossing the pond why not make it so hard to understand that you will have to use subtitles that way us AMERICANS don't have to put up with the accent.

Hmmmm,
For some reason, we have plenty of slang terms for masturbation! (wonder why?)
"Tossing" & "wanking" are perhaps the most common, but we now have some more colourful alternatives like "Cracking one off" or "pulling your pudding". Even more obscure variations like the rhyming slang version "Having a Tommy" (Tommy = Tommy Tank, ((Thomas the tank engine)) = Wank) Cockney rhyming slang! Would you adam and eve it?
In fact you can find loads of ones like that, Merchant = Merchant Banker (Wanker)

I'm sure some of the other U.K members will come up with much better ones than me, I've led a very sheltered life!
