Xbox, hmm.
Dunno, looks kinda like a pc in a console box to me.
I already own a pc, so Im not to impressed.
Being that its microsoft, im sure theres gotta something to grab the consumer.
I just dont see it yet.

Course I really dont pay much attention till
consoles are released. Marketing promises are too often wrong.

I'll probably rent the system at BB when it comes out. I'm not ready to invest another $300 into a system.
I just hope that its not to big. The thought of a huge roach housing complex is not to apealing for me in my overpriced, crappy aparment.

is it bigger than a genesis one with a segacd 2?

x-box to me used to be the next sega system...but now that sega also pledged support for gamecube...im leaning towards the big N...because of sonic team, but JSF looks mighty interesting but is that worth risking sa3 or nights2? i think not...so power to gamecube. hell...ill get em both anyway

Looks craptacular. Where the DC went wrong Xbox will too. Most people don't want slightly improved PC games for a home system and that is just what happened with the DC. It will happen with the XBox, the console market is very different from the PC market and unless Bill can stay away from a ton of PC ports all hope goes down the toilet.

Xbox is more powerful than ps2 but lack of support from Square would really hurt it just like dc's lack of square's support.Xbox has some good games but it is not even popular in japan and bill gates is hated.Xbox maybe could suprise us with killer games.i do not know but rfight now,ps2 has the biggest 3rd party support and gamecube always gets the best games.Xbox would have to give a hard fight and not give up.

I think that the xbox will be worth getting fro me for one reason that is HALO. I know it will come out for other platforms but I want to be able to sit in front of my tv and play it. My firends laugh at this but just wait and we will so who will get the last laugh.

XboX is just another computer that use your TV as a monitor. i've have a freaking computer already. XboX cant beat my Pentium 4 1.5 gig, G-force 4 with 80 Gig drive DvDRW 512MB ram. cable connections.

I don't know. If Halo is the only reason to invest into the Xbox, I would suggest to just renting the system with the game for a week or 2. That way you don't feel burned paying over $375 (system, game, exrta controller) if the game is less than what you expected. Hey, and if you like the system.... Don't return it!!!

I had no problem getting my PS2. I was in line from 12 to 7 and I actually got 2 systems (the only prob was I had to buy FUCKavision with the systems). I keeped one and the other I gave to my brother!

American consoles don't live too long. You've gotta have nipponese blood if you are a console. Nipponese games offer something that U.S. designers just don't have - style.

Look @ 3DO. Failed.
Same with Jaguar. Extinct.

I predict the same for X-box.

As a consolation, it looks like a sexy machine, and the controller is well-designed.

Nope, square lost cred once they started developing games for the PSX. They should have stayed with Nintendo.

The only place that square's support would actually matter is in Japan where the games sell millions. The Xbox will not suffer from square not supporting it. Its problem is the lack of support from companies in Japan.

About the X-Box: Let's just say I won't lose any sleep if it flops, is canned, etc. Don't give a crap one way or the other about it or virtually any other "new system".

And about Square: They've lost virtually any meaning they used to carry with me. The only game I enjoyed on the PSX of theirs was SaGa Frontier 2. Wake me up when they produce another game w/the quality of a Chrono Trigger or FF4.

HTH can they consider re-releasing crap-tacular games like FF7 when Seiken Densetsu 3 STILL hasn't been released in this country after SIX years?! <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/shame.gif" border="0">
