I recently purchased one on ebay with 14 games dirt cheap and I think it is one of the best hand helds with arcade ports of ninja gaiden and rygar also games like APB and warbirds are awesome.so post your feedback with opinions

I may be in the minority here, however I found some of the lynx titles to be quite entertaining.

As far as a "Classic Consloe" though I am going to vote no.

Nay.

Sorry, the Lynx is kinda lame IMO.

NGPC is much better, and of course GBA is scheduled for release in one week . . .

Only handheld so far with real scaling and 3D abilities. (I don't know about the GBA mode 7.) Screen hard to see. Quality of games is spotty with some being incredibly good and some being incredibly bad. Buy the best games and link up with Warbirds and games like that and you will be happy. Joust is amazingly arcade like, even the sound. Just like the Neo though the best games can be much more $$$ than the commons.

Lynx is a decent system. Many games for it sucked but still overall it was ahead of its time.

GBA 3D capabilities? You bet! In spades. Once you play Tony Hawk 2, you will be floored!

Speaking of GBA Tony Hawk 2. I have been playing it non stop for the past week. This game is for sure something you want to pick up as it is very cool and addicting. The skaters are so smooth!

Good to hear Rade, I'm on the pre-sell list for the U.S. GBA! Does GBA have full 3-D scaling, or is it flat surface scaling like SNES Mode7? Looking forward to getting mine.

Well, I'm sure that the capabilities lean more towards pumped up SNES special effects. The skaters are full 3D polygons, which the screen will zoom in on, on a cool trick. Also, I have seen screen shots of a Smugglers Run-style game with 3D textured graphics and curvy landscapes. It looks really cool for a portable. The screens are over at www.computerandvideogames.com

here is the direct link:

Edit: fucked up the link. I suck.

I thought having rampart for Lynx was fun enough, I've been meaning to pick up APB...

Yay.

Lynx is underated.
Though bulky, it had some great atari ports like A.P.B. Xybots, and Rampart. Ninja Gaiden was good too.

Not as good as NGPC tho.

Yay to the Lynx. It had a lot of potential back then which was unfortunately untapped. I wish it would've had some more arcade ports. Raiden appeared, but it came out too late.

One game to get ahold of for it is S.T.U.N. Runner. It will really blow your mind when you see how Atari crammed the 3D power of the arcade into a portable. You'll respect the Lynx after you give it a shot.

YAY. Back in the early 90s, this was what I wanted. I got some games already, and I am just waiting for the right moment to buy one.
