A few weeks ago, I saw an episode of Rank on E! that did a count down of the best sitcoms in TV history. To my surprise, Seinfeld came in number 1. Does anyone here agree with that ranking? I have to tell you, I've always been a huge fan of TV sitcoms, especially pre 90's, and that shocked the hell out of me. I've seen around 15 or so episodes and I rarely laughed or thought one of Jerry's jokes were humorous. Maybe it's because I can't stand Jerry Seinfeld's brand of stand up comedy. I just feel like the supporting cast carries him through every episode. I mean, better than The Simpsons? Better than Three's Company. I don't even feel it's in the same league. With that said, do you guys agree with E! that Seinfeld is the greatest sitcom in the history of television?

Yes it is. Learn to live with it. I relate my life to Seinfeld all the time. I would say the Simpsons is a close second, though. The older you get, the more you appreciate Seinfeld, especially George.

Earthquake, I gotta agree with you the supporting cast was a lot funnier than Seinfeld himself. Kramer,George and the others supported the show. I can't believe shows like M.A.S.H. and I love Lucy came in after that piece of crap Seinfeld.

I have yet to see the Family Guy mentioned here. That show is 100 times more funny than the simpsons.

I forgot to say Cheers is a good show. The Cosby Show and Seinfeld have the best intro music. Go to this website to listen to every theme song in every tv show ever made in the U.S.

Three's Company is the best. Nothing is as funny as that show and still laugh afterwatching them 100 times.

The Simpsons has to also be there with the best. Seinfeld was a great show, but not the best.

Actually, I think it's one of the funniest shows ever put on TV.

For the most part, I absolutely HATE sitcoms - I think they're all about as entertaining as watching paint dry, and there are precious few I'll ever even bother to watch.

The Simpsons is the only one currently on that I'll even consider trying to catch nowadays. Futurama was another (although that's no longer on the air); but I still think The Family Guy was a LOT funnier than either of them.

I would call that true, yes.

Seinfeld is the greatest sitcom in the history of television.

Very few shows have created a library of hilarious quotes and unforgettable episodes an gimmicks.

Seinfeld does it all.

HELLLLLLO!

LA! LA! LA!

(I'm not counting cartoon sitcoms)

The Family Guy is damned funny. Did you ever catch that episode where Peter remembers his "college job" and they showed him in a Ghostbusters outfit and he trapped an old lady? That scene alone or when he turned the house into Pee-Wees playhouse lays the smack down on the Simpsons.

You're right Reeal Bout that show is WAY better.

Have you ever seen more than one episode? I doubt you've ever seen it or just saw Stewie and thought it was dumb and turned it. That show rulez.

'AL BUNDY! Polk High Fullback, scored 4 touchdowns in a single game." I'm surprised no one had said Married...With Children. Even after several years it has been cancelled, I still find that show funny as hell. I also agree that Family Guy is also very funny and also Futurama and the Simpsons. Seinfeld on the other hand, well...I tried watching a couple of episodes but I just didn't find it funny. I'm guessing Seinfeld was only funny to the older people.
