I completely missed out on this one growing up. I havent even realy began to hear about it until recently. Are there many fun games for the stystem? Is the Duo just the Grafx and CD in one? I mean does it play both, or just the CD games?

I'd say no, but many here would disagree with me.

Aside from maybe 5 must-have games, it's a system better left alone.

There are only a handful of decent games on it imo. If you can find one around 50$, it's worth it. That and the games can be found for about 10$ on ebay. In addition, it outputs a great picture, I'm not sure if it's the resolution or what, but the quality is very high.

Even though I love my Mega Drive... I'd have to say that the PC-Engine /TG-16 is the best of the 16-bit systems (those it's hyper 8-bit really) and excluding the NEO:GEO of course, even if it didn't get the foot hold it deserved in the USA. The system, especially with it's CD-ROM abilities at the time truly were waaay better than even the MEGA CD In My Opinion. The system is King for shooters with Saturn being in 2nd spot on that note. I'd say if you can get one at a decent price man, BUY IT! Trust me, you won't be dissapointed. Of course I'm primarily talking about the import stuff.

You should feel lucky, the turbographics was never fully released here. There are PAL versions, but in very small supply, Spanish & french i believe those are.

Anyway, Id recomend the Turboduo as i expect you can pic up american games mega cheap, plus you can play jap cd's from the start, and there is a massive library of quality games, usually outdoing its megadrive and snes piers (remember, like the snes/super famicom, the PCEngine/TG16 is not a true 16bit system, thouygh its custom proccessors can kick all ass)

Does it play imports, or do you need an import system?

What games would you reccommend? (So I can do some fine internet research and reading)

When I replied, I replied specificly for the Duo.

The TG16 is freakin ugly, but if a PC Engine is in question... now that's diferent!!!

Still lots of cool games there. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> I love it.

Are there good RPGs for the system? I know The Ys games are, or at least I liked the one on the SNES . . .

Yeah, Y's is a classic series, but it is being done on PS2 soon, a conversion of the recently excellent PC version.

The RPG's in english are scarce, but Cosmic Fantasy is meant to be good.

Card game Nutopia 2 is a good RPG.
