Which one are you:

A) Wanted one badly as a young kid, got one and loved it

B) Wanted one badly as a young kid, got one, and was disappointed

C) Wanted one badly as a young kid but never got one

D) Got one when you were older and was satisfied

E) Got one when you were older and was disappointed

F) Don't care about dogs whatsoever

Me: C <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

Besides not going to Disneyland, not having a puppy goes down as something I wish I could change about my childhood.
Still don't have one.

Probably won't til I move out.

So -- is it as cracked up as it's made out to be?

"C" for me. Someday I'm going to have me a Lasso Apsel (however that's spelled), 2 Beagles (Snoopy & Pocchaco) 1 Schnauzer and a Basset Hound.

I love dogs.

I hate most dogs, except the one I own and some others...my dog is the sweetest, most cowardly thing ever...

Pretty fucking loud, too...but damn cute...I love my Vanessa...

Yes, that's her name, but she was born way before 2000...she's an old dog, too... <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

Oh, didn't read the question correctly

I'm none of the above...She's part of my first memories...My conscious awoke and she was there...

edit: in other words, my parents bought her around the same year that I was born, for my older sister...

I've had dogs my whole life... as a Kid, had them growing up... and as soon as I moved out I got a dog of my own. This weekend I am actually picking up a second dog... I need a little friend for my pooch. I love dogs, they make living a lot better. Actually, I could say my dog saved my life, she is always there for me... making me take her for walks when I probably wouldn't of even gone outside and play with her when I was feeling down... it cheers me up... and god did I go through a nasty bought of depression throughout College. ANYWAY... me dogs... love em,

A.

We got a weiner dog when we were about 5 or 6 and she lived a good long time. She died around '89 or so and the following year my mom bought a Chihuahua mix from a friend of hers. The dog was so cute 'cuz she fit in the palm of my hand :) .

I've had my "rat" dog with me ever since and most people, family included, have deemed her "my dog" since she is with me all the time. She's racking up the years though :( .

I don't hate cats, just can't be around em 'cuz of that saliva irritating my eyes. Sides I think all cats know I love dogs and don't wanna be around me :p . Dogs rule :) .

I didn't particularly want a dog per se, but I got one when I was 6. I can't imagine what my life without him would be like. His maturity sort of paralled mine, he was a bouncy puppy, I was a frenetic child. Now I'm a lazy college-student, and he's graying "old man" who does nothing but sleep all day. We're a great team.

And it's a beagle named Otis, in case anyone was curious.

G) Born into a house full of dogs & cats.

My whole life was spent around dogs, cats, and other various animals. I will never be able to live in a place for long without animal companionship.

On a sad note, I have never owned a Husky, they are by far my favorite type of dog. Extremely playful, energetic, affectionate, an all around gorgeous breed of dog.

They are great dogs man. I have a Malamute (a certain breed of husky) and she is amazing. She is one of the most behaved dogs I have ever seen. And I am not just saying that because she is my dog. Hell, I barely had to train her at all. In 7 and a half years she has not done anything bad at all. Not chewed on any furniture or bite anyone or go to the bathroom in the house or anything.

She has been with me through wars, and I can say that I really respect her. May sound crazy but I have respect for who she is. She helped me become a better person.

I never wanted a dog when I was a kid.
My family had various dogs though, but I never really had anything to do with them.
It wasn't until I was older that I started thinking about getting one.

They are very intelligent, and easily trained.

A friend of my mothers breeds them for show, and a few months her prize winning girl gave birth to six puppies, I have never seen such a crazy bunch of little pups in my life. But even after such a short amount of time each of those little pups were listening to basic commands and paper trained, not to mention fucking adorable.

I had a Besinji if one spells it that way (I don't know how it is spelled). Weird little dog, Huge body, small head. His name was Barfy after he vomited profusely after eating voraciously the first night we got him from the pound. Besinjis are silent dogs, they cannot bark. Instead he used quite weird noises to communicate.

Avoid puppies unless you have the discipline to sit by them every hour and nurse them like babies, or if you have the puppy's' mother.

Exactly why I pound puppy. I went down to the SPCA/Humane Society this weekend to find my second dog. I stumbled on a gorgeous two year old English Springer Spaniel named Austin. He is a real gentleman too, real laid back... Next, my dog has to meet him (thats how they do it here) and if all goes well, Austin is joining the family :) Pups are hard, but if you have the time it is really rewarding... However, I like the adult dogs... much easier to get them on a good track :) and less problems overall to deal with...

Missy is wating for her new friend:
