Since I don't want to unintentionally spam anyone's thread,or getting kicked in the rear by someone in the UK and certainly not trying to join the trolling die-hards over at Gamefaqs,I want your opinion on the matter.GameCube's got my Vote!

Here's a better Idea for a thread topic.

"GameCube vs Xbox: Why do you care which one is best?"

Sorry, but this forum is rife with system wars, I used to quite enjoy reading people get so worked up over their favorate inanimate piece of electronics equipment, but now the same things are being said over and over abnd its becoming like a stuck record.

And by the way, you left the PS2 out of the title.
Why?

haha

you'd think i'd pay £300 for a ticket to the usa just to kick someone's arse? way to take me seriously, junior loco

but seriously, don't spam threads (especially not selling ones) and turn them into console debates and i have no problems with you.

Both systems are good in their own way so it's entirely up to the individual as to what kinds of games you're looking to play that would steer you to pick one up over the other. The G.C. is of course going to have Mario, Zelda and all that Jazz... but will have a more user friendly (i.e. kids can play it) atmosphere to the XBOX's blatant 18 and older demographic, which has more violent and exploitive games on it. I for one love the XBOX and don't see a reason to buy a G.C. but that has nothing to do with me hating the G.C. I feel both are great systems. So just look at what you want and then go buy the system. Either way you win, you come out of the store with an amazing system that will keep you glued to the TV and make your GF mad for not spending enough "Snuggle Time" with her.

Just my 2 Cents.

Well I left PS2 out of this because it is, no doubt, the console king at this time. No,I'm not trying to cause a system war, just want to know where both systems are heading.Good points,Toy_Brain!

I think they are both damn good. I personally enjoy GCN better, but am not sure why. Xbox, however, has some great games. I fucking LOVE Steel Battalion. It's so hard, but very good. Graphics aren't the best, but they're very very good. Incredible interface and what not.

I'm getting off track. The best question is why not own them both!

PS2 has the biggest user base... BY FAR. However, I don't hink the PS2 is the hot console. Not in the US at least. It's got the games and what not, but as for a 'what's happening now' stand point, I think it's mostly GCN and Xbox. PS2 is haning in there, however.

Well, hats off to ya,Spike.Personally,I think the Gamecube is somewhat like the Saturn,DC,and even the Neo.It's certainly not the system of choice for the masses, but its supporters.I have both of these systems and enjoy playing games on both, but it seems to me that the Xbox software developers are not being as creative as the GC's.I might be wrong, but there are so much they can do with the Xbox, instead of games like Azurik,Shrek, and Bruce Lee,just to name a few.I think what the Xbox need is more Japanese developer support!

Why does it matter which system is better? It's all about the games anyway.

Every system out, regardless of how system advocates feel, has good games. It's all a matter of opinion.

There aren't many games I think are good on the X-Box, but that doesn't mean the system sucks. I'll buy mine when it hits $100.

I own a GCN, but it doesn't get much playtime either. I haven't turned it on since I got 100% on Metroid Prime. It's been longer since I played X-Box, that being when I completed Crimson Sea.

PS2 is probably my current favorite though. It's the only place to get Dynasty Warriors 4 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends.

Personally I think if you're a gamer - that is you like a variety of games and different platforms then you'll want an X-box or PS2.

If you are a Nintendo fan or Resident Evil fan then you'll want a GC. The Game Cube is very limited to the amount of games it has to offer specially for the older generation.

Flame bait 2 tha xtreem!

No really, just get all of the "big 3" in any order you want. They're all good systems with their own pros and cons.

IMO, the XBox, but it all depends on what games you enjoy. The GC just doesn't have anything I'm interested in (unless you count the multi-platform titles, which are better on XBox).

Find out what are people's favorite games and rent out a system with them and see which ones you prefer.

I jumped from SNES to GC myself, and I'm quite happy with the GC. The XBox is starting to come out with a few titles that I might like to play so I might pick up a used system sometime in the year or so if I can find the smaller controllers that is. :p

What kind of games do you like to play? How's your budget? The three systems aren't *THAT* expensive now a days.
