Funny the contrast here, seems there is the super rich, and the young kids who can't or barely can afford the neo habit. Does'nt seem like a lot in between. Anyways just thought this was interesting...

I'm in between..I'm 34 and not rich.

I've been a Video Came Collector for over 20 years.
I buy and sell Video Game related stuff.

I work as temporary machinist when needed to repair or set-up a machine.
I also run a small day care center in my house.
Mainly for my relatives kids..

My wife makes the Big bucks though.

well I fit in the middle too.

I make about 60K a year , which is ok, but when you consider I live in Monterey county which happens to be the most expensive county in the country it dosent go real far. { my 1 bedroom 550 square foot apartment rents for 875.00 a month and its not real fancy,nice places with things like fire places and washer/dryers are about 1300.00 a month, houses of about 1200 feet sell for 300K to 1 million and we are talking about shacks on the bad side of town }

Im also single and dont own a house so taxes takes almost half of my check a month, then factor in food and utilities and a car payment and I dont make shit.

But I guess thats what I get for living about 40 minutes from silicon valley ?

Its ok though since I can buy computer parts for cost close to home , or just about any other electronic equipment for that matter.

I'd say im in between right now or closer to the poor end. I'm new to Neo gaming at home so thats why i dont have any neo stuff yet. im planning on spending a good portion of my next paycheck on a 4 slot motherboard and then im going to build a supergun. im in my first year of college and i still live at home in my basement so i dont have to spend much in the way of living. when i move out i will probably be poor though :(

The good thing about missouri is that the cost of living is low. although i only make a few thousand a year anyway so i suppose i wouldnt really know. What does everyone do for a living? Right now i work part time for my friend and his dad doing HVAC/Mechanical/Electrical work. But we're in between jobs right now so i haven't worked since mid december, i also haven't been paid yet either frown

Yeah, I came from a pretty poor family. Funny, though, by looking at my games you wouldn't have thought that. I guess I pamper myself a bit... I've been working my ass off since I was 13. I think that you can live pretty damn comfortably if you just learn to watch what you spend your money on. If you give up paying for shit like soda, junk food, and drugs, you can save some serious cash for some luxuries (vacations, transportation, electronics). Little mistakes you see your parents make you quickly come to solve yourself.

I make a decent amount, and I'm fairly comfortable. I've been lucky and always landed decent jobs.

Unfortuantly, I have to adjust to added expenses of buying my own house and not having a roommate to share the costs with. (Well okay, I have my GF here now, but it's not the same. I'm not complaining of course, and well, I'm just being stubborn.

I'm a middler too!
I'm 34, and I've got my own little business selling Antiques and Retro items in general (Including video games). I've got a lot of friends in the VG industry, I write some reviews, help with some web-sites, do a bit of this and that. My GF is just finishing her honours degree in computers, so she'll be going into the VG industry hopefully, and taking the financial pressure off me a bit.
Its an OK living, If I work hard, it pays well, If I want to be lazy, I just tick over.
Suits me! :)

LOL!
'Thug Life' ?????

I just had this vision of Blur's 'Park Life', but with the guy singing 'thug life' instead!

'I get up when I want, except on wednesday when I am rudely awakened by the dustmen'

...'Thug Life'

'I wake up, have a cup of tea, and I think about leaving the house'

....'Thug life'

'I feed the pidgeons, I sometimes feed the sparrows too! It gives me a sense of enormous well-being'........ (etc)

I'm 16 years old. I use all my allowance on video games (sometimes some music). I do a lot of chores to get my AWESOME allowance of $15 a week. NeoGeo is worth it though. :D

All the money I get goes right back out on the terms of my SSI.

If I could save my money beyond their sad limits I'd be pretty well off.

I'm a tweener. I'd be ok if I was allowed to save money.

Well this is my last post for awhile. Later

I'll be at Shaolin venoms if you need me. Not like you will

I make good money now with my new job, but I still can't say much still living with my parents. I finished college in May 2002 and landed my current job that August. I'm saving about two-thirds of my take-home pay for my own place, which I am waiting out on because there may be a very big shakeup at our company very soon - another company just bid on us, and I'm the employee with the lowest seniority in the whole plant. My department is highly valued though, so hopefully we will be OK.

I think everybody's mom does that, even when they're like 40...

I'm a 21 year old college student.

My parents are quite well off. For some people this seems to be a major issue.

I work a computer help desk for my spending money.

I am 25 and I am a USED CD store manager ((we sell games too)) I make a measly 14K a year I fuel my hobbies by buying rare CDs and games and selling them on ebay .

I am married and I own my own house ((mortgaged of course)) and I have a pretty decent game collection that I can only attribute to my highschool years while I was working and still living at home ((NO BILLS)) . I still buy lots of games , more than my wife should know about . I have been collecting Neo games for about 5 years MVS at first and just within the past year and a half I have been collecting AES slowly but surely I hope to get them all .

I'm dead. Have been for quite sometime now. Got killed in a horrific highspeed car crash.
Now i just spend my days walking the earth for the rest of eternity as punishment by the Almighty for never completing LoSJ.
Once I have found the lost prototype known as Ghost Lop only then can I rest in peace.
I type I directly through the ng.com server - one of the perks of being a ghost I suppose.
