I'll wait. I always do wait. I might pre-order it. I hope Hori releases those fighting sticks in the US.

No choice here...

We have a GC only. There isn't one coming out for the DC, is there?

Hmmmm...

It doesn't look that much an improvement on the original...

Doesn't the arcade version run on a Naomi board still?

See my sig.Thats the version i will get.
Nah, it won't be possible on the DC.Its a system 246 game. The animations are far more fluid than SC1 and the environments are much bigger, the resolution has been upped a notch and the game has some good special and lighting effects that the DC could only dream of doing.Don't get me wrong, i still love the DC but i know its limitations and one of em' is the lighting effects(In general, not SC related. :) ).

I'm importing the gamecube version and buying the domestic xbox version. I don't care for spawn, but the xbox version will have xbox live downloadables. I love my ps2, but heihachi? Thanks, but no thanks.

Are you going to get any of the hori fighting arcade sticks?

I agree just not in as many inflamatory words. If you want opinions on the game and importing it then I suppose I'll toss mine out even though it's likely to be rebuked. I think it's a terrible game, just like the first one. There's no skill involved, and the fighting system is completely broken. That is all.

Soul calibur a terrible game? Broken combo system?
Who says a weapon fighting game should have a combo system. I love Soul Calibur because it broke the trend (unlike tekken). I'm dissappointed the sequel wasn't a huge leap forward, but I haven't played it enough to pass final judgement. I'll probably pick up 2 hori sticks for the gamecube.

While i agree that the first Soul Calibur didn't take the greatest amount of skill (my button mashing sister could often beat me :() i do disagree with you saying its a terrible game. I don't think its terrible simply because i had a lot of fun playing it, and in my book thats what is most important.

SC1/2 requires skill to really master the characters. Many of the fighters have a large bank of moves and there are a lot of strategies. Those who say the game is terrible obviously haven't spent much time with the game.
SC is not about mindless slashing. Its much more than that.
SC2 is also quite balanced so the combo system is not broken.

As for which home version is better, its all a matter of preference.Keep in mind that these console exclusive characters don't share anything with the main cast. They are just there because namco wants to make each version special in its own right.Heihachi def. kicks ass. Those who play a lot of Tekken would know that.

Nope, Dc couldn't handle it.
Oh give me a break. I've played this in the arcades, and it looks NO better than Soul Calibur on DC. I bet DC COULD handle it.

The graphical style is similar but thats where the differences ends.If you are talking about polygon count, animations on the fighters, resolution, effects and Bgs, SC2 is better. The facial details are much better this time. Those who played it at the arcades a lot will tell you that.

Dc would do it no problems whatsoever. Just look at Shenmue II, the graohics aren't far off that, which is a huge city at a time with masses of people. This is just 2 people in a square ring with pretty backdrops, so it shouldn't be a problem at all. Anyways, the animation isn't a giant leap from the first at all.
