Do you prefer Super Mario Kart or Mario Kart 64?

And why?

I, by quite far and large, prefer Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo. To me, that game was virtually perfect. It was fun as hell to play with a bunch of friends, or even just one friend, and it was SO addictive it should have been outlawed. I recall one Saturday morning where my brother's friend came knocking on our door at 8:45 AM, waking us up, so that we could play Super Mario Kart.

As for MK64 -- I liked it, but I never really was crazy about it. Less courses, less shortcuts/secrets, and IMO, a whole lot less charm and personality.

That's my take and I'm sticking to it.

As a racing game, the first one, but as a multi-player, the second one by a MILE. Mario Kart 64 was a super fun multi-player game. Much better than the first could ever hope to be with the 2 player, 2D levels.

secret boosts in time attack brilliant , jumping the large gap (minus feather as its time attack) in time attack on ghost valley one is soo hard but so much fun wink

mario kart on the n64 i a pile of pish and is about as deep as puddle , I was VERY disappointed when first I played it.

Also super circuit on the gba is far too easy wink

The SNES version was miles and away better than the 64 one. I mainly played those games in multiplayer modes. The 1st one was fun and frantic. The second one just didn't have that frenzy that made the first one so great. The levels were too big and the multi-storied levels just ruined the fast pacing of it . Oh well... at least the GBA one is good.. but I have no one to play against .

I never played SMK, but I can tell you that i don't like MK64 at all... frown

SNES version is an all time classic.....N64 version is a very good game, not even close to SNES version, but still ok.

As for GBA, well..........its a very good game....

But it just ain't the Snes version.
