It's just too easy even as Richter, that's my only gripe. Well, as Richter it's kind of hard to do some of the bosses, but I managed it without much problem... I guess you could do the thing where you limit yourself. It's a great game, yeah. Not overrated.
I agree.
SotN is a beautiful game in terms of both grahpics and audio, and you'll never hear me say otherwise.
But it's just too easy to be enjoyable enough to be one of the best games ever (meaning something like top 10 for me).
Richter's mode is so generic it actually worsened my opinion of the game, whether it should have or not. *Spoiler Alert* I covered as much of the first castle as I could with him, but as soon as I reached the second, I no longer felt like seeing everything... probably because I had ALREADY seen it twice before, with Alucard. I blazed through the second castle in fifteen minutes! And for reasons that even the world's most brilliant scientists can't determine, YOU DON'T FIGHT DRACULA AT THE END. Now
that's lazy development. And for those of you who think Richter's mode is worthwhile, at least to see a new ending I've seen mentioned, forget about it... THERE IS NO NEW ENDING.
I firmly believe that Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is a better game. It's a shame the GBA has such a poor screen, otherwise I think the game would have received the attention it deserves.
