They aren't really developer kits. They are just an interface to use the Game Boy on a TV. Want to see a real GB Dev Kit, I'll take picts of mine <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Really? Does that mean that the item is overpriced? Or is $3,199.00 a normal price to play a gameboy on a TV???

LOL, & i thought neogeo was expensive.

that's what I was wondering....it just looked like a convertor to the screen. I didn't see any software compiler or anything that hooks up to a computer. How do they develop gameboy games anyway? Is it kinda like the Net Yuroza PSX? that came with a pc port cable and software. To me it looks like a wired Jamma cable and a Cheap looking N64 convertor slapped together with a Jamma connector. I can't really tell...I thought a Dev. Kit would look a little more professional as well.....that one looks kinda cheap and plasticy.......Just my thoughts......thanks for the replies......and how can they Say they were going to do Neo games on the Gameboy when The game boy is 8-Bit? That puzzled me and confused me a little too....... <IMG SRC="smilies/smirk.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/spock.gif" border="0">

that is a Wide Boy64, and they are only availiable to developers. They are very expensive, but not over a grand expensive. That's just NGF markup. I have no idea what the hell the wierd cable is coming from the CGB. It really functions as nothing more than a N64 Super Game Boy. It had Native CGB support, and no version required an upgrade to support CGB. The one thing I don't think it did was support SGB color pallettes. I played using one at the pokemon tournament a couple years back. It supports only the D-pad and A&B buttons, along with start, with the Z-trigger emulating select. It is supposed to play Flash ROM development carts that have had already been compiled and burned.

Yes the dev kits are very similar to the machines that BUNG was selling. I will try and borrow my friends digital camera and gets some shots of mine. It is a blue box with a serial cable that runs out the back. This hooks into a Nintendo development board that sits in a PCI slot. On the box there is a slot that can be used to dump compiled code to a Flash ROM that acts like a burner. This is an old kit that was used to do original Game Boy Games. It can actually burn any type of game boy game, but the code on it only allows the debuging of monchrome games without moving to cart. The codding is straight assembly, the gameboy has a very simple z80 esque processor. There are other kits, actually I have seen much more rubust ones then this. Like I said mine is very old, but this has always done the job for me.

The box NGF is selling is nothing more then an interface to let you play your games on a TV with a N64. Pretty worthless if you ask me, and to tell you the truth I can try and track down what one of these things would cost, just give me a few days <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
