in the USA,the game sold near 2 million copies.in japan, the game sold less than 100,000 copies.many of you may know this but i was kept in the dark and found out about it after reading EGM.whats up with the poor sales of an AAA title like JSR in japan.no wonder this is why sega abandoned the dc,poor sales in japan.its a crazy out there, thats for sure.

Incredible, wtf do they play over there now? Is that correct for sure though- cause they even released a semi-sequel to it over there.

WOW! And to think a large percentage of those sales were due to importers. I bought both import and domestic release.

Most people know this already, and it's a damn shame, but the real reason the Dreamcast got killed was because of poor sales in JAPAN, it was actually still doing really well in the US, it wasn't DOMINATING the US, but it was still doing quite well for itself.

If a game like JGR (great graphics, new innovative gameplay) doesn't interest Japanese gamers, what kind of game does? I seem to recall seeing something once that said Japanese gamers love (or once loved) horse racing simulators. Man, go figure.

If you look at Japan game sales monthly, you'll notice that RPG , puzzle, dating and strategy type games are most popular. Do you see a lot of sports titles on Japanese monthly top ten? Rarely.....

Kinda like Franchises in the US -
If one store in a certain area does awesome, but the whole chain folds elsewhere in the US, then the one store closes.

Is this bullshit, or what? No fair.

i have checked the sales chart again, the number games sold is still under 100,000 copies.its patetic but true.i wonder JSR future would sell on Xbox in japan.i heard that Xbox was not even as popular as the dc in japan because most of the japanese gamers does not seem interestrd in Xbox.i shudder to think of it.

Regarding horse racing games..... in the box for Final Fight One for GBA theres a advertising leaflet for future Capcom games... 1 page for Breath of Fire 3, 1 page for SSF2 Revival and 2 pages for a damn Horse racing game! Jet Set Radio should really have sold better though. In the UK No-one I know has even heard of it
