Who else plays this game on a regular basis after owning it?
I like the new background effects when you do a super.
It rocks. The soundtracks are very nice, the graphics are sharp, smooth and in serious high res with no pixelation, the sprites are well animated and look nice, the interesting new fighters are great especially i-no and slayer and the mission mode is hard but rewarding. There is absolutely NO LOADING!!.The new backgrounds are cool and the old ones have been given a facelift and they look better than ever.Dizzy's background is my favourite.
The secret characters such as kliff, justice and robo ky are great. They are not found in the arcade version.
The gameplay is still fast and furious. The new burst guage is interesting. It serves as a combo breaker(blue color) and an attack(yellow color). You could escape the opponents's combos or attack by pressing D and any other button at the same time.
Decent story mode too.
This game is tops.I know there are some threads created concerning this game before but i just created this thread as i love the game.I can't get enough of this awesome game!
Anyone who has an import or modded PS2 should definately check this game out.If not, you all could wait for the US version which would be released on Febuary.
This sequel blows the original out of the water. The PS2 port is awesome and definately is arcade perfect or maybe better.

GGX and XX are deeper than what most people think. There are many different complex combos/air combos that are worth trying. <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

I didn't know that. Hey how are the games in Singapore? Any difference to the Japanese ones?

Most of the new JPN releases gets here real fast.Same with the US releases as well.
We don't have a specific version. We just play either the jpn or US version of any game.I own a JPN PS2.

Is the animation better than GGX? I loved the look and what not, but beyond the dust clouds that kicked up every two seconds, the animation was not the greatest. Better this time?

I have gotten the secret characters after reaching lv 230.
lv 210 unlocks robo ky, lv 220 unlocks kliff and 230 unlocks justice.
There are other ways to get them as well such as unlocking 60 endings in the story mode which is easy but takes very long or beating the mission mode which can be a frustrating task.I choose the survival mode method. You will get the EX characters too.

Yes, there is a US release.Still don't know the date but definately in febuary.

GGX is the normal version that was released in the arcades and then the JPN DC and the US PS2.

GGX: plus is an enhanced version that was released for the JPN PS2.It has 2 extra characters(Kliff and justice), remastered soundtracks, improved frame rates, new modes, a new GG mode(press L2+R2 on a fighter) and 2 new backgrounds(kliff's and justice's).Its the definite version of the original.

GGXX is a sequel to GGX.Released in the arcades last year and was recently ported to the PS2(JPN version). The US version is coming soon. There are new backgrounds as well as the upgraded old backgrounds which look nice now IMO.There are new characters as well.
I think GGX2 is the US version's name. Its the same game anyway.

So GGXX is sort of like jumping from Street Fighter 2 to Super Street Fighter 2? It has every thing that GGX for DC has plus some or is it really different? I ask because if it’s the same game with more stuff I want to sell my DC version of GGX. Should I sell or keep it. Would I ever play GGX when I own GGXX?

Mind you, I love playing Street Fighter 2 and I also love playing Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. I have every single Street Fighter 2 upgrade because to me they all feel like different games. On the other hand I had DOA2 for the DC and then sold it to get DOA2LE because I felt it was the same game but a better version because of the extras. Do I make any sense?

Now knowing how I play/collect my games, should I sell GGX for DC to Get GGXX on the PS2 or are they different enough to own both?

After all,its a very good sequel.
Edit:
Oh, i forgot.GGXX is way better than the 1st game and its up to you if you are want to sell GGX for the DC or not.I am keeping GGX.No plans to sell or do anything with it...
GGX is still nice to play.
