And no I'm not talking about that fucking cable!

I was reading the latest EGM and they had an article that said there was going to be a GBA that hooks up to the bottom of the GC. This will be very similar to the super boy that nintendo released for the snes. You'll be able to play GBA games on your TV. You don't even need a portable GBA to play the games.

I can't wait! I really hate portable systems and I didn't want to buy that ghetto ass homebrew online piece of shit adapter that lets you play GBA on your TV. I'm glad nintendo is releasing an official product.

P.S. For all the forum assholes, if this has already been posted, I'm sorry. At least you queers can't tell me that this should have been posted in unrelated topics.

I can't wait either. Too bad I already plunked down for the modification device that let me plug my GBA into the TV.

If that thing is really coming out, and Mario Tennis is actually going to be on GC, then I'll hold off on buying another GBA and buy one with a GC!

since you need 2 GBAs linked to play 2 player GBA games, will the adapter automatically let you play 2 player GBA games?

I would hope so. Super Game Boy allowed 2-player play.

I already have a GBA TV adaptor and now that I have the picture working right it's great. Playing the GBA on the TV is a lot better. All portables should come with the ability to use A/V cables. Most people just want the games and not the portablility....

Ninyendo have gone loopy n the GBA is pretty lame in my opinion.

I think its a cool idea n will be a nice bit of kit for the GC, but it seems like the old Ninty has flipped its lid.

This is old news but good news. My poor GBA has till March, then it's the Japanese GBA player all the way! I like how you can either use 2 cube controllers, or you GBA with the link to play.

Yep, a reason to take out my Cube again!

It's got a link port, to allow a GBA to connect to play two-4 player games.

Imagine if you got 4 Tvs, and 4 cubes!

GBATV lan party!

In case you didn't know, the GBA is hugely successful, and even if you don't like the thing, Nintendo is making a great move here.

Ah yes, the Game Boy Player...it'll be nice. I love the price more than anything($40). I considered buying the tv adaptor, but I didn't want to shell out $100+ for it <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

I once hated this system to death...but due to a considerable # of excellent titles to play, I just couldn't ignore the system anymore. Thanks to games such as Lunar Legend, Golden Sun, Advance Wars, Castlevania: CotM & HoD, Metroid Fusion, Mega Man Battle Network 1 & 2,...I have seen the light...

*Raises a glass*

Many thanks to Nintendo for making yet another quality product...may they make many more...

nice pics. You think that little hold for a phone cable on the last on means online play? also megaman zero was a very good game also. It's a shame I just got a gba, but at least it's still mint.

i'll but one when there's actually some decent games on it...not bastardized, $40 versions of contra, king of fighters, street fighter et al.

i dunno what the big deal is, the bloody nomad let you plug it directly into the tv out the box... 8 years ago  and they were the same genesis games with great 6 button control.

gba- teh suxorz, imo the most uncreative, and crappy system ever. Just a haven for cheap buck snes ports.

GBA has more good original games than any of the other current systems, IMO. Try Metroid Fusion, Castlevania: HoD, and Megaman Zero. And I have heard nothing but great things about Advanced Wars an Golden Sun, which will find their way to my collection soon. :D

You are right about it being way too port heavy though, they need to cut that shit out.

you ever tried hooking up a nomad to the tv? yeah I though not. It resets over the ver slightest movement. It's not something you'd wanna do to play contra, castlevania, or any game over 5 minutes. Of corse I can't play it for 5 minutes without it resetting when it's on the tv either

yes i do actually, with a RGB scart lead. I use it more than my actual genesis set up as i do not have any 6 button pads left. So your argument just fell flat on it's stupid face.

maybe they work better in europe, but the ones I've used worked bad. I used the 1 pin cable connection.

The nomad was never released in europe. it's a us import. And it was bought used too, so the connections aren't frsh. Maybe you just have bad luck with yours?

Here we go again! I love how people think it makes any sense to bash a system because they think a few games fit into a certain category. Yes, there are ports to the Game Boy. How the hell does making fun of those have anything to do with the other 600 games which aren't ports? Metroid Fusion, the Castlevanias, The Zeldas (3 exclusives!), etc. The thing is backward compatable. It seriously has a library going back to 1987 or whenever it was that the thing was released. You can't blame Nintendo for not making it TV compatable to begin with, either. Nintendo has managed to make handheld gaming a profitable business. It might not even be around if they included all the crazy shit that other companies have included in their handhelds. GBAs are dirt cheap. It would be nice if they had a backlit screen and a TV hookup on the GBA to start with, but who would've paid $150 to have those capabilities?

Anyway, witht he GBA Player you don't need an original GBA to play.

I'm really glad that the big N choose to do this. I'll finally be able to pick up all the great titles I missed just because I hate portables. I own a 50" tv so the borders won't bother me too much. Castlevania, 2 player Final Fight, and Metroid here I come!
