Yay! my USA PDO popped through the letterblox this morning (sod waiting till march for the pal version) and wow, i'm very impressed. The graphics really are something else, the level design is pure class, the whole game is ART. and the old Panzer gameplay is better than ever thanks to the gameplay enhancements, the morphing dragon on the fly and the speed dash/break which gives both new ways off defeating enemies and avoiding fire.

The boss battles are truly epic due to the sheer scale of the bosses, and the way you can move round them at your own leisure is really smart!

Also, the Music is some of the best i've heard in ages. The 2nd and 3rd boss battle music springs to mind as well as the main theme. Sound Effects are true to the series roots , even the classic dragoon scream is still in their. Overall a fantastic shooter that in my opinion easily eclipses Ikaruga. :D buttrock

Good to hear! I got my copy a few days after the release date and I've been playing it constantly! Back in the mid-1990's when we played our Saturn versions, Panzer ORTA was exactly how we envisioned future iterations would look like on more powerful hardware.

Sega did not fail us.

is it just me or does the music

So I beat PDO, think its beautiful, think its amazing, think its a great game. But I don't think its gameplay quite matches up with Ikarugas. And stylistically, I think its got a few things to learn from Ikaruga as well.

I had a chance to try PDO at a friend's house, and good lord was I impressed. He just got a big fat new TV with progressive scan, and the game just looked fuggin' amazing.

It'll be something awesome to play at the end of the year between endless rounds of Halo 2. For now, I still don't have much motivation to buy another Box. Perhaps some newly revealed gems at E3 will change my mind.
