I didnt run out and buy it because it looks kind of like a silly boob-fest. But what do those if you who bought think so far? What all is there to it?

I'm embarrassed to say this publicly, but I bought the game... Am I the only one willing to fess up to it? eye eye

Dennis Rodman's vocals in the game were horrible...just as bad as that damn Jean Claude movie...no wait, worse! annoyed

Very shallow gameplay... If you're actually going for the gameplay, (yeah right) I'd recommend Beach Spikers over this... The computer handles most of the difficult task... All you really have to do is hit a button at the right time.

The voices for the girls are Japanese, which is very odd for a volleyball game. It's basically nothing more than dress up the girls we've come to love in swimwear, and just watch, I guess... It has a poolside hopping game which made me question my sanity of laying down $50.

I had it for about 4hrs, then decided to trade it in for store credit on Panzer Dragoon.

I think it is a fun game. I debated on acutally buying it or not but since I pre ordered it I kinda felt obligated to purchas it.
As far as the Volleyball aspect of the game I prefer Beach Spikers. But in its own way this too is a good volleyball game. Only it's too damn easy.
I don't think this game should be catagorized as a volleyball game though. It's has much more. Hell I like spending time playing games in the casino as well. I guess its also been refered to as a Novelty game. This definetly feals like a game that Japan gets that usually never makes it state side.

I'm not laying down $50 for this game.

I'll wait until they fill the used racks in EB with them for $15-$20..(Or BlockBuster)

After everyone gets their kicks off the Boobs then they will returning them in numbers.

You would think it's shallow what do you all have against DOA ANYWAY?

I think it's a good game (DOA3 anyway) No less deep than tekken.

As for Volley ball It's a Dating sim more or less.

DOA3 is rock paper scissors with fighting. Tekken is much deeper than that, with a MUCH better combo system. With what you've typed out, I can tell you don't know much about either series.

I bought the game via trading 2 old games + $10.

Thank god that's all I paid for the game.

The volleyball engine isn't all that. I spent over 2 hours initially playing it to test it out.

It is very simple to control (which is good), but limited to what you can do as well. The worst culprit is the camera, it is positively the worst camera angle.... I can't even describe how bad it is. Half of the time I just tab a button hoping my girl will save a spike.

The rest of the game is geared toward a 9 year old girl.... collecting accessories like sunglasses, nail polishes, or give them to other girls in hopes that they like what you gave them (or else they throw them in trash, oops there goes your 50,000 swimsuit). I guess it is as much as a "relationship" simulator as it is a volleyball game, or Tecmo's Swimsuit Issue.

I know there are plenty of people who like this game, citing that it is relaxing (the non-goal oriented and 2 week end time approach), or that the graphics is unbelievable (if you have seen DOA3, you have seen this). I think it is a pretty shallow game with a shallow gimmick and a few different play mechanics (none of which are very compelling, unless you like to gamble, alot) thrown together.

I am glad I gave up 2 crappy games and $10 for it. But this is my opinion, if you enjoy, more power to you! :D

I'll admit to signing this one out from work as a curiosity. It's pretty fucking crap as far as the game part goes. I swept the 7 matches I played, never even having one point scored against me. Then my friends wanted to jump in for some four player to see how that was. That's when I was really let down. THE GAME HAS NO FOUR PLAYER. Shit, Beach Volleyball on NES had four player. Nice graphics, but crap game.

Lets face it.
This game was gonna blow donkey balls before it even came out.
So I really don't know why people are surprised all of a sudden.
Its DOA. You're not going to get anything new. You're just going to get T&A and moderate gameplay thats it.

So Criticom for Sega Saturn is as good as Soul Calibur?

Fight for Life (Jag) is as good as or better than VF4?

Again they're all the same just a few suck others don't DOA DOES NOT SUCK

At the Core they are all the same basic idea

I'll use the Mayamoto method of explaining it:

2 groups of blocks beat the shit out of each other.

I don't see why you guys think DOA sucks.

DOA2 anyway.

DOA has a pretty involved counter system, having mid, high and low, and each character having different types of counters and parries.

I like the combo system in DOA because it's very fast, faster than other games i've played. I also think they handled the tag feature better than Tekken Tag, because the tag feature in TT almost prohbits you from doing tag combos.

I feel the game is pretty balanced, if you don't count tengu. even then, it's not so bad. The characters are pretty creatively designed, and there are plenty of moves which are designed very well, and very neatly.

I feel it's a much faster game than Tek of VF, and more arcadey and unrealistic. While the story is trash, just like every DOA endboss, i just really like the gameplay.

While i don't feel it's as deep as say Tek or VF, it still is one of my favorite fighting games.
