They are. According to Blue's News, a press conference is scheduled for the near future in which this will be announced. I'm not sure how big to be on this, but I guarantee you that this merger is Sammy buying Sega and not the other way around.

Words cannot express the anger that I am feeling. I read that and then just got extreamly pissed off about every person that said that JSRF was stupid, or waited for a PS2 and flipped the bird to the Dreamcast.

But on the brighter side... Sega could have merged with Microsoft. At least Sammy has had some innovative ideas.

Well, it looks like if it's true, Sammy will be taking control of shit.

You really can't blame that choice as the mismanagement of SEGA coupled with all of the great software getting ignored is fucking frsutrating sometimes.

If it is true, I can only hope they will allow all of Sega's teams the same creative freedom, but at the same time, make them more profitable. That's good and bad.

Let's just hope its still called SEGA.

Sammy put out Guilty Gear and KOFEX for GBA too.

According to the article, they bring in shitloads of $$$ through pachinko machines.

Well if Sega goes out of business, i'm through with next-gen. Sega's stuff is the only stuff that appeals to me, really. I could give 2 shits about Nintendo, but Sega...that's a given.

It would be sad for Sega to go out. I like Nintendo WAY better than them... back when it was Nintendo Vs Sega.. you can guess what side I was one. But once they stopped competing and Sega made games for the Cube..etc... I really started to like what they did. They were cool.. especially with Sonic... Sonic 1 & 2 for the Genesis is awesome.

To be honest, I saw this coming.. either they were going out of business (bankrupt) or where going to be bought out. I kept looking at their financial statements.... they were bleeding red for a while.... bummer though.

sorry to write a third.. but EA seems to dominate the software market. I get tired of seeing EA on all these games. It used to be they did Sports. then sports and desert strike games... then so on and so forth. Next thing.. they Own maxis and one of my favorite games... Sim City

When ARUZE (a yakuza run Pachinko maker) bought SNK, things were run into the ground (even more quick then they were going).

I'm not going to totally blame SNKs fall on ARUZE, but it was obvious that the only thing they wanted was to use the hot SNK properties on their pachinko machines. Kinda dirty. Didnt have any intrest in anything else.

As a side note, Dion Dakis called ARUZE aquisition of SNK the best thing to ever happen to SNK.

Anyways, i don't think that will be the case with SEGA, as according to the merger, SEGA is 54 percent. If that will help things. Also, Sammy also makes some pretty okay videogames (GGX and GGXX are just okay).
