Well I finished maxing out my house on the 3rd day I played it and now its very dull and boring.

I have the museum about maxed out and there just isnt anything new to to in the game anymore.

So for me Im through with it, now my brother has my GC and he has been playing it.

I loved it, until I couldn't play for about a week, and that just threw my whole town into upheaval, so I sold it :D

The problem with people I think is that they sit there and play it trying to go straight through and get everything or something. You simply can't finish the game. Nintendo said there is an ending to it, but it will take 30 years to see it. Just pop it in from time to time when your bored and want something easy going to do. I've gone a few weeks without touching it only to pop it in when im tired of playing games that require to much thought. It's relaxing, I can play for 20 minutes or so and get some stuff done then move on. I can some of the e-reader cards as part of a christmas gift and they were pretty nifty. Got some extra items. No Punch-out though :(

I still play it now and then... it is hard to gget everything.... and keep everything up and running. I played it constantly for 1 month... I couldn't put the game down. But I bought about 10 more games... and I started playing those too... Burnout for the cube took my attention away. My wife got bored of it (because of writing letters all the time). But I still play the game once or twice a week.... just to see whats going on. I have not got tired of it yet.

Its fun even after you have the final upgrade. You cannot catch all the fish/insects because some only come out at certain times of the day & Year. PLus..... trying to get a complete set of furniture/wallpaper/carpet is rather difficult.... without getting it from someone else.

I don't know... there will be more stuff on "special" days in the future. I cannot wait for animal crossing 2. In AC2.... there needs to be a lot more to do, I can see where some people could get bored (lack of action thereof). It supposively is going to be online too.... supposively.

Its still an A+ title.
Its even better if you have a buddy and you can visit their town constantly or once a week.

BTW... there is an ending?! Where did you read this... and what is it?

I had to put down that game..after 3 months..had all the NES titles...the Mario items...over 700,000 in the bank..what else could I do? my biggest complaint was not enough space in the home, why did the 2nd floor have to be half the size of the 1st? But I'm hoping for AC2 to have a truckload of improvements...hell I hope you can play some more rare NES titles, like Kirby's Adventure, Metriod, Zelda 2, Super Mario 2 or 3, knowing Nintendo they would probably through in "Donkey Kong Classics" to make a 2 in 1 game, no Animal Crossing is complete without DK.

unless you want a really expensive house.... with a killer support system..... normally the upstairs in a house is smaller than the middle floor. :)

its a super fun game when you play it.
but i snapped out of it after 2 weeks.
i realized i was only fishing and crossing
my fingers for red snappers. and digging fossils.
then getting pissed when tom closed shop.
pissed when people didnt know what the fuck i was
writing them in my letters. and pissed the fuck off
when new people would pop up out of nowhere.
so i had some new fucker that i had to please.
i might have been alright if the game had a keyboard.
and i didnt really get too mad. but when i figured
i was basically spending 1.5 to 2 hours fishing all day
i just dropped it. i still have it though.
maybe if i have a kid or something they could play it.
it seems like it would be fun for a kiddo.

Okay.

For me where I'm at is... I love Animal Crossing like I love a strip club. I don't go as often as I'd like to, but I'm always a huge fan of it.

Maybe that's not the analogy.

At any rate, I'm all about the game. It rules. But I honestly haven't played it for about a month (really sat down and played it) because it is very true that once you have the house paid off there's no immediate driving goal.

True you can catch all the fish and bugs and stuff but the fact that you CAN'T catch them all unless you play for a whole year (they're seasonal) does make it seem sorta distant.

And having most/all of the available NES games does hinder.

HOWEVER, this does not detract from the awesomeness of the game as a whole. I can't wait for AC2 and AC is still one of my favorite games.

It's a different type of game, you just CAN'T play it for months and months and months on end, day after day after day after day.

I played it every day from the time I bought it (mid sepetember) to the first week of November. Every day. Like 3 hours a day, no less than 2 sometimes for 5 hours a tack.

All told you're looking at well over a hundred hours (may two hundred) hours of game play.

What game can you play that long without finally "beating" it. Some of the MMO games? Online FPS? Basically there aren't many games off line that you can do that and there are a handful of one-player games that can live up that moniker.

It's just the nature of the beast.

Still, the GC to GBA NES games make the game a must have by itself. No gamer worth his salt can turn down the opportunity to take Punch-Out or Zelda on the road.

Is it dead? No, I just think for the first wave of people who have played it; the honeymoon is over. You still love your wife, you just don't fuck 20 times a day.

I just started playing this game. Looks cool. The NES games seem like a good enough goal to me, even though I have all or most of them somewhere in cartridge form. Can people visit my town by knowing my name and town name? People had them in their sigs and stuff. That seems pretty impossible, but if so my town name is "barfpie" and my name is "socko".

Somebody trade me a rare NES game for an orange. Or a seashell. That's pretty much all I have for trade except for a shovel, a tile floor and an umbrella. Yeah.
