GTO - a definate break from the norm. A comedy series with a fair amout of perverted/slapstick (but well done) jokes.

Love Hina - halfway through the manga, I'd say I like it more than the show. Cliched, but funny (because of Keitaro's terrible luck) and also a nice fantasy (because of Keitaro's incredible luck). Likeable characters and beautiful artwork.

As of right now, I'm reading GTO, its a very good manga series, and also Love Hina. Other manga I would recommend is Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth, Lupin III, and Samurai Deeper Kyo. All of these titles I highly recommend.

In some ways, the Akira manga is better than the anime, but that doesn't mean the anime sucks.

GTO is basically about 22 yr. old former bike gang leader who decides to go into the exciting career of teaching. At first he does this just so he can score with some of the high school girls. You can go to tokyopop.com and look there for more details.

I'm reading the bebop Manga now. It's good to have more adventures with the Bebop Crew seeing as how the movie won't be on DVD (legit anyway) for awhile and no new series is in the works.

I'll check out Love hina too. I'm interested in the anime but I think I'll read the manga first.

Maison Ikkoku. Haven't read the English version but I'm sure it must be like the Japanese version - different than the anime series. One piece is pretty popular. And, any Ghibli Studio related book is very nice!

since only me and one other recommended it, i'll recommend it again : Blade of the Immortal.

it's like Quentin Tarantino making a highlander style Ninja Scroll.

Berserk. The only Manga you'll ever need to read.

Maison Ikkoku
Battle Angel Alita
Appleseed
Gunsmith Cats
Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind
Video Girl Ai
X/1999
Sanctuary

On an aside note, does anyone think the Battle Angel Alita movie that James Cameron is going to direct as his next project is going to be any good?
