. . . at Best Buy, starting today for the week. BEST price I've seen for this yet. For those of you who have it, can you post a few comments? How is the game control using XBox controllers? Weapons cool? This game gets top reviews, and I'll probably go ahead and pick it up, especially at this price. I'm a little more into pure action FPS games like Serious Sam, Unreal Tournament 2K3, Quake 3, so I'm not sure how much patience I have for Splinter Cell.

Is Splinter Cell really as good as everyone says? From what I saw in a demo, it looked no more exciting than Metal Gear Solid 2.

And if it's a game by Ubi Soft, I will never buy it (their games are almost as bad as the ones by infogrammes).

It's really an amazing game.
Graphically? Graphic whores will love this...since it's so real, its breath taking.

stylistically, its bland as any other tom clancy game though.

Splinter Cell is one of the greatest video games I have ever played. I don't even really like spy crap, but I can't stop playing. BUY IT!

Yup, its good stuff. I have been playing it off and on since Thanksgiving and I am now up to the end of the 7th mission. The game can be difficult at times, but only in a way that requires you to think you way out of a problem. It is never really frustrating or against all odds hard, but it does have a nice difficulty curve to it.

The graphics are very nice, especially when you see the effects of the different goggles/visors that your character can use. The audio is probably one of the very best parts of Splinter Cell. If you have a proper Dolby Digital system setup, it is great to hear sounds and characters talking or walking around behind you as you duck around a corner. Gives the game tremendous atmosphere. I was never really all that big into the stealthy sneak and peek type games. I enjoyed the original Metal Gear back in the day, but I never really got into any of the 3d versions. Friend of mine brought his copy of Splinter Cell in right before Thanksgiving and after playing for 10 minutes, I knew I had to have it. Bought the next day.

Overall I would say it is one of THE reasons to own an XBox. Incredible game.

A+ -Highly recommended

I just picked up the very last copy from my local Best Buy. This game is a lot better than MGS. I am not biased towards Xbox, but this game has MGS2 beat. Fisher has moves Snake/Raiden can only dream of. I love doing wall splits.

when you do your first Van-Damme splits jump, wait for a guy to walk underneath, then drop on him and knock him the fuck out, you realise just how good it is.

I bought it for $37.99 at Circuit City last week... Its a good game, my little bro digs it, but he is of the new generation, I just like watching it, it has some really breath taking graphics,

yes its a pretty good game but it could have been so much better

the difficulty for a start

it just detracts from the games enjoyment thus making it a fecking nightmare

glad there are loads of save points

on the presidential palace level - but i have just bought mortal kombat: deadly alliance and i must say its the dogs bollocks :p

check out Kenshi's fatality - i was creasing up with laughter (dont do it on Kenshi though)

at first it doesnt feel like a Mortal Kombat game - but when you get into it its playable as hell

only 1 more character to un-lock

and there is one other think i found by accident

'cooking with scorpion' - little segment about Scorpion making Cakes

the reason i mentioned this game is because i have stopped playing Splinter Cell and i want to unlock as many secrets as i can

only finished it with Quan Chi so far but i am finding it pretty difficult

Haven't done Kenshi's fatality yet, I've only done scorpions. I finmished it with scorpion but bloody hell it's a hard game - getting well pissed off toward the end.

i found that 'cooking with scorpion' titbit now that's funny. 'learn how to chop and beat and decorate a cake and beat and chop' the guy playing scorpion must feel like a right knob

the extra bits are absolutely huge

Scorpions fatality is very good as well

As I steer away from the Hi-jacking of this thread.

I got the Sun. paper and saw this add on the front page and after only playing the demo from the Xbox mag. I got it for this great price. I dident get home till after 11pm last night and had to work at 5am but still could not help myself from going through the training. I hate to say it, but MGS couldent hold a flame to this game. Sam has a badass voice too. Go get it worth every penny if you are at all interested in this genera
