After god knows how long, looking for a reasonably priced RGB compliant big screen telly, we managed to get one in the sales!! :)
Most tv's sold in the UK dont have RGB, they only have scart.

Its a THOMSON (French, good! owns Fergusson)
Its 28 Inch Widescreen, Nicam, and unusually for European TVs, it accepts NTSC, RGB, S-Video etc.
Its got loads of features and menus to play with, superb picture quality, and it was reduced from £370 to £199!!!!!
One day only (boxing day) and we had to drive 50 miles to get it, but it was worth it.
The F**KING Billybox loks soooooo good on it!!!
So does the GC, hmmmmmm, ROGUE LEADER!!!!!!

Rogue Leader will be the FIRST game I play when I get a new widescreen. I've got my eye on Samsung's 30" HDTV compatible widescreen. Very nice, but still rather pricey.

Just wondering, wouldn't a 32" regular flat screen give you the same size with games played in widescreen as your current TV?

I've got a Thomson 28" W/S for my gaming set up too. Seeing as TV's are so bloody expensive in the UK still, I refuse to shell out £000's on a TV just for games.

Anyways, I thought Thomson were Scandanavian? Since when have they been French? French electronics are shit :(

Check
this out for the THOMSON history. It appears they were American originally, then took over a big French company, then Thorn then RCA and on and on...
They're bigger than I thought.

mmmmmmm Rogue Leader!
To say that this game looks totally different in RGB on the Big screen would be an understatement!

My previous gaming tv was a 21" BEKO with standard SCART. Which although nice, is nothing compared to the THOMSON.
When you're playing Rogue Leader it looks totally jaw-dropping. The Death star level at the begining is amazing. The buildings look real, you can see the light from your blasters lighting them as it streaks overhead. The resolution on the little TIE fighters is superb! I cant recommend this game enough as a hardware demonstrator for both the TV and the GC.

KERNOW.
Whoa!
Lucky gift or what!
We looked at Panasonic but for a decent size with RGB they are 600+
