"DigiCube has officially announced they will publish Falcom's Y's I & II Eternal Story for PlayStation 2 in Japan in spring 2003. A remake of Falcom's popular 2D action RPG Y's and Y's II back in 1997-1998. The PS2 version is based on the remake version released on PC in 2001, which features rearranged graphics, music, additional scenes, narration and voice. In addition, the PS2 port will feature additional characters, items and voice not found in the PC version"(Magicbox)

Nah stuff like that never comes here because the majority of the of American, Europe etc gamers are not interested in stuff like that. The Japs love it though. It's the minority (us) who would deeply enjoy it. :(

dammit, that's better come here!

now when the hell is "Zwei!!" going to be translated!? I'd get that no matter what platform it would be on.

It is, by all appearances, simply a straight port of Ys I and II Complete for Japanese Win9X. The PC version did not have any voices, though. It was all text. It'd be wonderful if it came out here, but I don't see it happening. Heh, maybe Agetec or something...

And by the way... No apostrophe in Ys! *whack*

you can always play the original for turbo duo :D

man i've wanted the pc version ever since i found out about it.

and now its on ps2, it has a slight possibility of being translated over.

i think we should all start writing emails to agetec and working designs.

Agetec actually seems to value customer feedback. I've communicated with them a few times and they seem like a decent group of people. This may happen if they get enough feedback on it.

I'd much rather have Agetec bring it here. Working Designs will rewrite the game to include lots of cute fart jokes and it will come out by the winter of 2053. Fuck WD.

I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and plunk down the moolah for the import. It'll just be too fucking sweet to pass up.

I hear you on the W.D. stuff Loopz, but I'd rather have it more or less intact than have to brave all that Kanji without understanding any of it, and I liked W.D. early translations on Exile (there's a series that should be redone in 3D actually!) If that comes out here, or some company will only make X amount in a limited pressing in pre-order basis... I am so there!

Working Designs will never touch Ys Eternal. Victor Ireland himself was approached about it some time ago, and he scoffed at the idea, saying Falcom "didn't do enough to freshen the games." Mr. Ireland is an idiot. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

And really, there's nothing for Agetec to cut. The "explosive" deaths of the normal enemies is exceptionally cartoony.

Working Designs is great, as long as they don't have to actually work on dialogue. The last thing Ys needs is a bunch of pop-culture garbage.

NCS announced a while ago that they were working on a translation of the PC version that was to include various nifty extras. I'd like to see that come to fruition.

I hope this comes with all the extras the PC version did: Art Book, Soundtrack and DVD's of the Anime. I'll have this the day it releases in Japan!! :D :D :D

Mmmmmmmmm...

Anybody have a way to play *original* import PS2 games on a US PS2 (1st model)? I was under the impression that the mod chips would still only play burned games...
