Yep, another sale. I think they'll have hit every major anime company before this is all said and done.

I'll be picking up Berserk right quick (I hear it's quite good), and for those of you who haven't picked up Rurouni Kenshin yet... what are you waiting for???

As always, the links and codes are in my sig. Please, help a guy out and use my links if you decide to make a purchase. ;)

Thanks man! ;)

I'm thinking Kenshin should be a big seller (at 40 percent off)... finally most people can afford to pick up the whole series.

You were correct... I took advantage of the sale to pick up Rurouni Kenshin. I bought ALL 22 discs. Of course, only one of them was actually in stock, so it could be a while before I get to see any of it. And of course, the discs they had in stock were like #4 and #12... it'll do me a hell of a lot of good starting there!

I also picked up the Yu Yu Hakusho movie Media Blasters has. Total order was like $400. Thankfully with the backorders it will take a while to ship, but I figured I had better take advantage of this deal while I could!

And I remembered to use your link this time as well!

I love you man. ;)

Have you seen Berserk? I've heard really good things about it, and the price is right, so I fully expect to pick it up, but... just looking for some feedback.

There is only one glaring problem with Berserk... it's not all out yet! It's one of the really few shows where you enjoy it so much you don't notice you've gone through 4 (or 5 on disc 1) episodes, so when it comes to the end your just like "SHIT! I can't believe that's it!" Evidently it ends rather abruptly, or so I am told, but as long as they close a lot of the major plot points off, I really don't care.

So yes, this is an EXCELLENT series, more than worth the price of admission. The transfer is really good. Being a TV series, the animation is passable (not the highest of quality), but not what this show REALLY deserved, if you know what I mean. I guess it also helps to remember that it was an early/mid 90s show. No computer assistance (or if there is, you can't tell) for coloring/shading/animating. On disc 2 there is a really funny English out take, so you'll want to check it out for a laugh (I watch my Anime JPN/Sub, but since they don't offer some of the extras in Japanese, I check 'em out anyway).

You should get the copy of disc one with the box, 'cause that box is bad ass! The box is highly inconvenient with the way it opens if you plan on watching the series alot, but it looks really cool. It has some of the best artwork on it for any box yet.

This is a series definitely worth checking out.

I really liked it... and honestly, it's pretty much the only "samurai" anime series that I've really liked. There's a lot of goofy stuff, it has a completely open ending, and some of the bad-guys are a bit out there, but it's an enjoyable series all around. I think if you want a slightly comedic action series set in the Meiji era, you should go for it. If you're just looking for a serious action series, it *might* leave you wanting more. Definately has a sweet soundtrack, though, that's for sure.

If you do pick up a few volumes, though, please do use the links. ;)

Yeah, you sold me, man. I hadn't heard any hype on it up until like a week ago (months after the first DVD had been released, I think), but what I had heard that week was really positive. It was just hard believe a truly good series just came out of nowhere and begged me to buy it. Usually I'm on top of this stuff!

Oddly enough, I have like 12 Anime DVDs I need to watch, and today I sort of had to entertain my brother and his girlfriend... I hadn't watched Berserk in a while, so I threw the first disc in, instead of trying to get through the discs I haven't watched yet. My brother thought it was OK after the 1st disc, but after seeing the second... he was hooked (his girlfrined liked all of... definitely not somehting that happens all the time with females). We actually watched through all but 2 episodes (3.5 discs I guess you could say) when his girlfriend had to go home. IT's the 3rd time I've watched what I have of the series.

I guess, don't be thrown off if you think the first disc is slow or whatever. It picks up big time after that.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but let me know either way.

Well, I made the order today (with the art box). These boxes really are the new fad in anime, aren't they? Ever since the Cowboy Bebop release, it seems...

Oh, BTW, I had a chance to watch the first 2 (or was it 3) DVDs of Kurumi last week. I really, really wish I had ordered it during the ADV sale now. We watched the dub (which is pretty good, I think, although I hear they changed a fair amount of the dialogue). Definately less fan service than I expected, and as with most shows that I enjoy, I almost wish they would've left out the little nude parts just so it was more viewer friendly... It's one of those shows I almost wish they had more filler because I like the group dynamics.

Anyways, enjoy the coupon folks. Last post you'll see from me for a few more days (gone for the weekend), so I just leave you with this reminder: coupon codes and links are in my sig. Use the links (please!), save some money, and enjoy some anime.

Kurumi was another one of those series where I watched, didn't realize 6 episodes went by, and then was disappointed it ended. Once I got past episode 24, I was down because there was no more (I realize disc 5 comes out in March(?)). I've actually watched through it 4 times at least. I just have to be careful who I recommend this series to, as it's not something everyone would be able to watch and enjoy.

I watched some of the dub, just to hear Cluadia Black, It was a decent dub, but still not at the level I feel the Japanese track is. I'm thinking about importing the DTS versions from Japan. And as far as nudity, the only time it really seems to turn up is when they first find the Angels or when they are being activated. Once they are activated, you don't see it much, if at all. It didn't really bother me, but I can see how the series could have gotten a bigger audience here in the US had they not had to label the series as 17+. I wish they'd make a cool artbox for this series...

As far as boxes go, I think they are really cool, especially when they only cost $10. It's always been a hit in Japan and I'm glad it's caught on here. I actually bought the expensive ass Paul Champagne box for Evangelion. Not something I'd do for any normal series, but it was worth it for a series that got me into Anime in the first place.

Having a legal wholesale account them, 40% off media blasters anime DVDs is what they sell their wholesale goods at massive orders.

I dont get how these people make any money at all and they kill the rest of the retailers too.

They have to be making some money, as even at wholesale prices, I'm sure they still raise the price on what they sell to you. Although, if you have the Got Anime membership, you'd get 50% off...

The other way they make money is by charging $3 or so less than the MSRP on EVERYTHING else that they sell, when everyone else is selling for 15%-30% off MSRP. That's why I only buy from Rightstuf when they have massive sales (like the recent CPM/ADV/TokyoPop/Media Blasters sales) or exclusive items (like the Escaflowne art boxes and Bebop artboxes) and anything else DVD-wise I buy from DVD Planet.

Can I ask what you have to do to get a legal wholesale account with them? Specifically, are there quotas for how much you have to buy in a given year, for example?
